Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | im in bergen county, NJ. i cant seem to find a good isp, either cable or dsl in like a $30-40 range. optimum online seems to be the best choice, but it says i cant get it because my area uses comcast. roadrunner isn't available. i hear verison tops you to 640k or something. im just looking for recomendations from you guys since all of you live in the area.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Try Earthlink if theyre available. If you order however make sure you order Covad as the CLEC and not Verizion because if you do you will not get 1.5/368 but you will get 640/90 LIKE SCHOOL IN SUMMERTIME

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I have used Verizon since July. I had issues with them in the beginning, but, since then, have been satisifed with my DSL service. I know others have not been so lucky. There was an article about DSL vs. Cable a few weeks ago in the Star-Ledger. The thing I like about DSL is if that service goes down, I can fall back on my dial up connection. Also, it is YOUR dedicated line. You are not sharing bandwidth with other users, like with cable. O&A Board Veteran Registered: Dec. 00 | It's best if you get the skinny chicks. You use less material that way. what? isn't that material you put around fat chicks? Actually, I put DSL into a client site in Bergen County a while ago. COVAD is not the way to go. See if you can find an ISP that uses Northpoint. they're much more reliable. You can contact MegaPath.net. they came very highly recommended in Bergen and gave great service. If Earthlink does come to your area, they are excellent. I've been with them for 6 years. Never a problem. Never busy. No hang ups. Good luck. If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullshit!
