| O&A Board Regular Registered: Apr. 01  | just got back from a couple of weeks overseas. flew out of newark and security was a joke. they didnt even look in my checked bags. went through the metal detector and sent my carryons through the xray machine in like 2 seconds. didnt check my pockets or anything. i couldnt believe it! other people i was working with went through o'hare and dulles and they practically got strip searched. you would think that the airport where one of these planes left from would have tightened up a bit. the only change i noticed was more troopers out front. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | as alot of people know, I work at JFK once in a while and after the first few days following the shit storm, security was tighter than a frog's ass. But, that did not last. again, I can walk around the hangers whenever I feel I need to even though I should not have access to the area. The same dim bulbed ass fuckers are still in charge of security even though they have minimal english skills at best and the whole security force is still of the Arab decent.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | The FAA ran some tests during the last month and at 15 of the nation's largest airports they were able to get 3-inch switchblades passed security. Nothing has changed. As long as you have $5 an hour airport workers who have criminal records you will have poor service and security at airports. Federalize the airports, like some foreign countries do, and you will see a change for the better.  | ||||

Rifled through the carry on, turned on the laptop, got frisked. Though flying back from Detroit, virtually nothing. One lady even asked why they weren't checking better, response wasn't in English. | ||||

The only other option is to close all the airports for weeks, and that they won't do. They probably just can't up and replace these guys anyway; aren't they unionized? Armed sniper on every flight, men with guns at every gate. the only way you'll have any semblance of security. otherwise its all for show.
