Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01	edit--it was an AA Airbus 300 max seating of 275. (WINS) An American Airlines Boeing 767 (big) plane has crashed just moments after takeoff from John F. Strange paradox. edit--- 10:11am 11/12/01 Crashed plane carried 255 (CBS) American Airlines Flight 587 was carrying 246 passengers and 9 crew on its way to the Dominican Republic as it crashed at JFK Airport. The Pentagon confirmed the plane went down at 9:17 a.m. and had not reported problems, according to reports. The plane crashed in a residential airport outside of JFK Airport on 129th and Newport in Queens. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed it was an Airbus A-300 headed to Santo Domingo that crashed on takeoff, NBC reported. Bridges and tunnels are closed around the city. The plane was scheduled to leave at 9:15 a.m. for the Dominican Republic. LaGuardia, Newark and JFK airports are all closed, WCBS-TV news reported. WCBS-TV, CNN and other stations are broadcasting live video of a large column of smoke arising amid the neighborhood. Four houses and a gas station are on fire, according to reports. Police helicopters are circling. The New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is on his way to the scene. The plane nose-dived, according to a witness on the scene interviewed by WCBS.
