O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | I just the the movie yesterday and loved it even though I didn't have a clue as to what I was looking at by the end. The only explanation I found online that makes sense was that the first two thirds or so was a dream/fantasy sequence in which Betty recasts herself and other characters ala The Wizard of Oz to escape reality, the story of which is told in flashback mode the last third of the movie. Read the full explanation here. What do you think? This space for sale.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | *laughs maniacally as someone else has found the wonder of Mullholland Drive* I still have no idea what's going on (my first thought was the blue box was an opening to another dimension) but I definitely think it's one of the best movies of the year--better than Waking Life by far. It's like Homer watchign Twin Peaks "This is brilliant...i have no idea what's going on." It's definitely very enjoyable and I could see how it could be a TV Show

Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | This was a great, fucked-up movie, though if you're don't like David Lynch you should stay away. I liked it much better than Lost Highway, which is even more confusing and doesn't tie together as well. Did we mention there's HOT LESBIAN SEX in "Mulholland Drive"?? That might convince some of you to go see it. And Brownstone, thanks for the EW article... Salon did the same thing, in lots more detail, if you're interested: Everything you wanted to know about Mulholland Drive "If it wasn't for the weed, I don't think I'd get nothin' done!" -- Snoop Dogg, "The Daily Show"

Arpikarhu Harmless Teddy I wish Maynard was still posting here so I could implant my head up his ass. Needle dick, bear salesman. I think I'm a revolutionary. Actually, I'm a one trick pony. I enjoy C&BT | posted on 11-22-2001 @ 1:11 PM
O&A Board Regular Registered: Apr. 01 | i have given up on david lynch films. his last few seem like he is making them just for himself and only he can understand them. he seems to leave out any explanatory clues. its like he is saying "i understand this, so you should be able to". he doesnt understand that we are not in his head with him. i enjoyed his earlier stuff. but now he is too self- indulgent AIM- Arpikarhu
