O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00	Well its not exactly a x-mas poem, so I decided to post it in a thread of its own. I know, I am so the attention whore. Anyway I hope you like it. And anyone else who wants to post their poems about the board or even not about the board in this thread, please feel free to:) â€˜Twas the night of the x-mas party And all through the board Not a poster was stirring Nary an attention whore The forums were waiting With diligent care In hopes that someone Soon would post there Me with my Gateway And virgingrrl with her Dell Patiently waited for anyone to post Anyone but shelle When what in front of my wondering Eyes does appear But a post in OT Oh, should I start to cheer? I wonder what it is? I wonder what it could be? Now that I think about it Thereâ€™s a lot I could see. Is it someone posting smartly? Or someone being a dick? Or is it a reply by my favorite poster, That adorable Raindancer chick! Could it be Dana posting an ailment? Or Maynard posting his lunch, Could it be a long drawn out reply? Or a simple FU Buttmunch? Could it be kid questioning board policy? Or Slash questioning the use of plurals, Or Gonzostyle posting at all, And having us all question his morals. Could it be Sean spreading hatred, Or someone spreading lies, Or seph posting one of his pictures, And hoping someone â€œDIES DIES DIESâ€??? Is virgingrrl being a meanie? Or fmfb being a bore?, Or is Irish Alkey, Just being a damn post whore? Is Fez posting sig pics? Or is someone looking for bits? Or is it just Rapefantasizer Posting another pic of her tits? Is crx acting British? Or Tequila acting Italian? Or is ronreddog still trying to convince Everyone heâ€™s a stallion? Is Joey flexing his muscles? Or Magus protesting heâ€™s not gay? Or is it another Stern zombie Looking to come here and play Is keekee being cryptic? Or teenweek posting news, Or is it another wg fu With her singing the blues;) Is Froy being king shit? Or liquid posting at all Or Mavric coming back to the board Looking for another brawl Well I think Iâ€™ll go look at it And see what was posted I hope it wasnâ€™t a stonerâ€™s post One who replied while heâ€™s toasted. As I go and check it Itâ€™s the one thing I dread Someoneâ€™s replied to the annoying thing That is called Beckyâ€™s thread. Maybe I should delete the thread And say it was a mistake Take the thread and Becky too And dump them both in the lake. Maybe Iâ€™ll just leave it there And let everyone look Itâ€™s the least I can do for Becky Who seems to be a kook Maybe tomorrow will be a good board day, Maybe find myself a fight. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories that about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?
