Almost every week an article comes out showing how we've just become more and more pussified as people. I figure this thread could be used as sort of a place to show such patheticness. This story comes from protestors against the new Arnold Schwarzengger movie, Colatteral Damage. Colombian activists Sunday said an action movie that was delayed after the Sept. 11 attacks is insulting to Colombians and firefighters. ``Collateral Damage'' stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a firefighter whose wife and son are killed when a Colombian rebel leader sets off a bomb in Los Angeles. Schwarzenegger travels to Colombia to seek vengeance against the bomber. At a news conference Sunday, the film was criticized by the Rev. Brian Jordan, a Franciscan priest who ministers to workers at Ground Zero. ``It is discriminatory against Colombians,'' said Jordan. Jordan also said making the main character a firefighter who becomes a vigilante is an insult to the firefighters who became heroes after the terrorist attacks. Many of the protesters Sunday said they feared the movie will cement stereotypes that Colombians are drug traffickers and guerillas, rather than hardworking, educated people. I understand that the sword is double edged and you don't want it to become overly acceptable to the point where you can just walk up to a black guy and call him a nigger in the streets. But that's where common sense comes in which is another facet of our society which has unfortunatly also become just another thing of the past. Don't limit yourself to 'safe' PC terms. Treat people with respect. Exercise some judgement, make some mistakes and offend some people. Apologize, explain yourself but don't excuse yourself.  I'm Deep Inside Your Children.
