I think the key thing in discounting them is Woodward's original manuscript quote that DT "was possibly the only person in the dept. to completely understand the scheme without being in on the planning of it." But seriously, don't you think Buchanan would have denied it explicity by now. He hasn't, and he refused their interview. If you were in his political position and didn't do it, wouldn't you have laughed those questions off by now? If it's him, he'd still be an asswipe, but a more interesting one who can get a killer book deal. Of course, the far right would consider him a traitor, but he's getting older now, so it doesn't really matter. He has a new show coming to msnbc. This could be a ratings bonanza. | ||||

The stupid thing is, that even if they think they "know" who it is they will never really find out who it is until Woodward or Bernstein actually tell. | ||||
