Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Everytime I go to open a video download in Foundry the file gets saved in my Winamp file as a music file. When I click on the file the "your media file is served" window pops up on the left and then to the right on the same page I get the Internet explorer "action cancelled" description. Then a Winodw's window opens that ask if I want to save the file or open it from its current location. I have tryed both a the same thing happens. Here is what it says on the Window's window that pops up 31601musical4.zip from 216.42.52.111. I've attached the "media file being served" so you can see what I mean...I hope it doesn't open the file for you. This has only happened to me since the initial change in foundry's page. If anyone has any idea I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!!! Visit this Website "What's wrong with being sexy?"

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | ok, first off, what browser are you using? I still find IE is a lot friendlier with foundry over netscape. Second, have you upgraded winamp recently, or reinstalled it, and let it become the default player for your downloads? I had this similar situation happen to me once, and I uninstalled winamp, reinstalled it, but only made it the default player for mp3's. How long has this been going on, since the initial new foundry format? If none of the above help you, you might want to bring it to foundry's attention, they might be able to help you out better - hope I was some help. P.S. - I clicked on the link you provided, and it downloaded as normally as any other file I would get from there or any other site, so its not the link, sounds like its the way your seeting are set up for downloads (I know foundry tends to put clips and audio in zips, so you might want to check out what app is set up to open zips - go to any windows screen, click view, then file types, and scroll down to the bottom to zip, and see what app is set to run it - I would assume you have winzip, so thats what should be listed) "Official sponsor of the Best Ass Contest" adopted by Rookie This message was edited by hornygoatweed23 on 3-19-01 @ 10:24 PM

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I use AOL and I have Netzip not Winzip...basically the same thing I think? It only happens w/ Foundry Downloads and it just started happening ever since they changed the Foundry site to its new layout! How do I reset my Winamp to only play MP3 downloads? O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | to set up winamp, you right click within winamp, go to preferences, then select file types - there you can select or deselect whatever file types you want it to be associated with (easier than uninstall/reinstall). As for your browser problem, I'm pretty stumped - if the downloads are fine with other sites, and foundry is the only one giving you this problem, you might want to get in touch with a foundry mod - and netzip, tho I am unfamiliar with it, should be basically the same as winzip. I just dont wanna start trying to tell you to change this and that, only to have you really f-up your setup - go to the tech support on foundry and post your problems there (with all error messages, like you did here) In the past, I've had this similar problem, but not where it would give me a bad link error - I just had audio and vid clips set up to be opened with media player, which wasn't working well for me at the time, so I just changed the file associations with whatever app I wanted it to be opened with.
