| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | That lowlife scumsucking, bottomfeeding piece of trash Timothy McVeigh is being executed on Closed Circuit in about a week. Do you think this and other executions should be televised either through PPV or better yet local tv. Would you watch, would you pay for it? We all know Fox would pick this up in a second. An idea for the next Reality Series. Get 10 of the United States worst and most vile criminals. Put them on the old alcatraz. Have immunity and reward challenges. The winner of the reward challenge would not get beaten by the guards with nightsticks and would not have to spend the night in the hole. You than have immunity challenges, and just like Boot Camp, one criminal is voted off each week. However, the person who is voted off is sentenced to die at the beginning of next weeks show. This goes, until one criminal is left alive. This guy still stays in prison, but gets better food and better living quarters. I know it needs work, but I am really bored at work today and just not thinking striaght.  | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Well, considering that I am against capital punishment, no. There is a reason they stopped public executions, it led to rioting and all kinds of problems. So, in this thread since I am the only one against I will say why. The only people that suffer from an execution is the criminals family. Why should they suffer because they are related to an F-stick. I say take the person, put them in an 8x8 cell let them think about what they have done for 50 years. Get rid of the pool tables and crap for these guys. Also, it is cheaper to house someone in prison for the rest of their life then to execute them because of all of the trials and such, so it is costing we the taxpayer more money to end their misery of rotting in jail. If this person is convicted or admits to the crime and shows no remorse for his/her actions we should just give them a smack on the wrists and let them live? I believe in the death penalty...I also believe that VICTIMS should have rights too. McVeigh is scum - If you were the fireman holding a dead toddler in your arms in the aftermath of O.C. would you still think he deserves to take another breathe? I wouldn't!  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I don't think executions should be televised or even paid for as viewing entertainment. The reason their lives are being ended is because of some heinous act that they committed. By televising it, you're opening the door for martyrism (assuming thats a word). Executions should be viewed only by the families of the victim(s) that have been affected by the criminal. And yes, I am pro-capital punishment. If you take a life, you deserve to have yours taken. I don't expect everyone on the board to share the same sentiment, nor would I try to impose that on anyone either - its just my position. And I hope McVeigh gets exactly what he deserves in the next life. | ||||

Now I'm all for capital punishment and really feel that gov't should get rid of the appeals system. The fact that someone convicted of a heinous act can appeal the decision of a court is absolutely ludicris. I for one favor that if you are tried and convicted of murder, rape etc, then you have no choice but to die. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. No appeals, no nothing. You die, plain and simple. If you are stupid enough to do the crime then you should have to pay the price. Not have the choice to appeal it, that's bullshit. Now picture that you are this murderer type person, sitting down on his couch and CNN breaks away to an execution. And none of that lethal injection crap, but the chair. Your sitting there eating your Doritos and thinking about killing and raping some rich guys daughter tomorrow and an execution comes on TV.. You sit there and watch this guy who did the same thing you are planning to do, go into convulsions and you see the smoke coming off him and the blood coming out of his eyes and ears until he's just a pile of stinking flesh... Now, would you still go and kill that person tomorrow? Probably not! Show it on TV! SHow it at midnight so the young kiddies aren't watching and show reruns every night till the next one! They complain about fake violence causing people to commit real violence so let's try showing some people what real violence is like and maybe that will cause them to think twice about real violence.
