Now I just want to hear the best movie or just a single sceene that made you say holy shit! You fucks no what I am talking about. That one moment that made you happy to buy a dvd player! Mine is so simple. It has got to be the beach landing sceene in Saving Private Ryan. On the wide screen that was some of the sickest shit I have ever seen! All the blood and gore kept me watching!  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | I actually bought it because i am really into movies and it's the one thing i really enjoy, besides taking a shit and anally taking on a 6 year old philipino boy. I bought a couple of DVD's dont ask why i bought them without having a DVD player. Then i got the DVD player so i took the polish way about it. My 1st dvd purchase was -Scarface -Se7en -Casablanca and -A Hard Days Night Nothing beats watching a great movie like Se7en or Scarface on DVD i was amazed the 1st time. The extras and the behind the scenes stuff. The finale scene of both scarface and se7en i thought would never be better. Until i saw it on DVD. I actually got Scarface in VHS and i was switching between the DVD and VHS and i was amazed at the difference between the two. (actually, thats one of the cheesiest features I've ever seen) Honestly, my main reasons were based on: 1) Image quality 2) Extras 3) Longevity 1 & 2 need no explanation. Longevity - think about it, Even a brand-new VHS starts to deteriorate after the first viewing, let alone multiple viewings. DVD's do not deteriorate unless handled differently in the manner in which they are intended, since nothing is touching the media other than a laser beam. So, if you treat the movie right, it should last a lifetime (or at the very least, until the technology should become obsolete.) | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Have to agree with the Private Ryan opening scene....Also the gunfight in the Matrix was unreal...I don't have DVD yet but a friend does. 60 inch tv with the whole home theater hookup...you heard the bullet shells hitting the floor behind you. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Just about any sci-fi or action flick is ten times better on DVD. Also, DVD restores a lot of quality to older movies. For instance, I have Porky's on DVD and the clarity is unbelievable, loads better than VHS, and even better than cable. No question, it is definately wothwhile to own a DVD player, but do not be fooled, if you buy a cheap $150 Walmart DVD player, you are not getting anywhere near the quality, and you will have tons of picture errors. Awesome surround sound quality/pic/movie. I can't watch VHS anymore, I'm spoiled. Marco, all gay porn is cheap (and sick).
