I respect it and everything but feel extremely left out up here in West Bumblefuck Massachusetts. Hopefully they do something up here so I can rub it into the faces of those of you who don't make the trip. That would be sweet. And who the hell cares? It sounds like you're making it sound like a closed-door event, which its not - its more a matter of respect for the people who went. I couldn't make it to the game, nor have I been to any board functions (official or otherwise) as of yet, but I totally agree with the standing rule. Granted, for many, the location alone may have made the trip impossible, but as per the norm, thank you threads and update threads are often posted to give everyone else here a "recap" of what more-or-less went down. It also makes you think "hey, what did I miss - maybe I should get my ass to one of these outings" - I should know, as I'm always telling myself that very same thing. I've been in the middle of planning my wedding over the past few months (4 weeks to go), so free time on the weekend or any other time has become non-existent. Once life returns to normal for me, I WILL be at the next function. I didn't mean to go off on you Joe Friday, its just when I see people equate the board and its rules to a totalitarian state or of having a cloak and dagger quality, it just seems uncalled for. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Well, being a casual reader and poster here I have no right to complain about anything. So, hopefully it didn't come off like I was. The people at the parties have every right to decide to do what they like. The only event I made it to was the softball game last year. It was a fun time and the pictures did make their way onto the net (loads of them in fact). That didn't bother me in the least. Also, when the board has their own parties (ie the infamous Fingerbang incidents) than that's another thing. But for like official O&A outings I think that some pics would be nice for those who can't make it. Please don't pile on me, I'm just posting my opinion. Also, hopefully we get word on this year's softball game soon. I have to make plans for that. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Another thing about the board outings is that there are certain people who just don't want pictures of themselves posted for anyone and everyone to see. As for "how was the game today?" - good god.... it was definitely a hell of a time. You can find out what everyone who went thought about it in OA.com Softball Game Thoughts, Reflections, Comments.
