O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00 | as everyone knows being online causes us to miss calls since the phoneline is tied up(unless you have a cable modem, which i do not) so for all you people who use a dialup service, what voicemail provider do you use? i use evoice now, but they are discontinuing their consumer voicemail service so im going to need to look for another one. any help you people can give me on this subject would be appreciated. thanx:) Now with a new and improved AIM name. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Faceman have you tried contacting the phone company? I know places like BellSouth offer packages that include voicemail services and they're quite reasonable in price. Also, have you checked into DSL? Is it available in your area? O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | Can't remember the name of the software, but I beleive there's a program that turns your PC into a telephone & answering machine. You can be on-line and still receive calls or put them off to the answering machine feature. All you need is a PC microphone & speakers. Don't need it myself. Got a cable modem. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Faceman, Tequila is right. Assuming your local residential service is through Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic), you can get voicemail service from them as part of or in addition to your standard package. You can create a separate greeting which plays when the caller gets a busy signal - mine tells the caller to reach me on my cell phone. I would much prefer a cable modem (Optimum Online was just introduced to my area), but we have the cable n*****-rigged from the people upstairs. "Save my ups, deek." | ||||
