O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | No, not hockey...sorry Raven Actually, I wanted to know how many people here have ever played hookey from work (or school...I guess) and just gone out and had fun. I assume most of you have and wanted to see what kind of things you guys do when your car breaks down / you're too sick / family emergency occurs. Well, I performed the ultimate slack yesterday when I decided not to go in to work. I spent the day on the water, I borrowed my sister's waverunner and played around on that for a good 4 hours in the most beautiful weather I've seen all year. The only problem is explaining my tan / sunburn to my boss... I can levitate birds. No one cares.

O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01 | The last time I played hookey, my friend and I stole his dad's car, then picked up my girlfriend from school. Then we cruised into the city and saw a baseball game, and were in a parade and...oh wait, that was someone else's life.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Most of my hookey days are spent in the winter where I wake up at about 4am or so and drive to Vermont for a day of snowboarding @ Stratton. Its nice to be on the mountain at 8:30 for first tracks of the day. Of course, its really rough to drag your ass out of bed the next day after 8 hours of driving the day before! O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I played hookey from work a few months ago actually.. the great thing about my job is that when you call in sick for one day, you are allowed 3 days off as a "sick occurance".. so on the first day, i just hung around and did nothing. the second day though, a friend of mine had off of work, so we went to a bar or 2, played basketball, went to the mall, and ended up in hoboken. the third day was a recovery day and also I went to a concert that night. E-Mail Me special thanks to maynard and grumpy for the sig pic and the help posting it

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | When I was a senior in High School, a junior and I planned a version of midnight madness all around our town, and I took two days off from school to get it organized and all the clues in the right place. My mother was all for it both days, and my dad let me borrow his Mitsubishi Diamante to drive all over the place. It was great. On the day the Midnight Madness thing happened, I caused the absence of over 100 juniors and seniors. That was my big hookey day I guess. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | In Culinary school. We had 3 week classes and since they are so short, if you miss a day, your grade automatically drops 1/2 grade (So if you would get a B+ it's dropped to a B) My girlfriend at the time went to college 1/2 hour away so I always took a day off at least once every 3 weeks to spend a 3 day weekend with her. (Man, looking back...I could've had a much better grade point average if it wasn't for that bitch!)

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Gosh, the reason I was so f'ed up in school was because I did nothing but play hooky, my sophore year. I would just hang out, outside of school, go to the beach, go to friends houses (whose parents were at work), go get stoned at a nearby golf course, ect.ect. And honestly I don't regret it. I had so much fun and I still graduated, as one of the top of my class. But, boy, those were the best times!!!

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I don't play hookey very often, out of guilt and fear of getting caught, but one day, several years ago, my boyfriend called me at work and convinced me to leave for the afternoon and go on a picnic with him. He brought a ton of food and we just sat on a blanket in the park and ate lunch and hung out. It's a great memory. :)

Ugh, there are so many days I can choose from...I've led an interesting life.... The best one is probably the last day that I smoked pot during school. My friend and I launched an elborate plan for April 20 ((of this year)) and every little detail backfired in our plans, but somehow changed for the better... here, this is what I mean: Our evil racist bastard vice principal saw us trying to cut school... during a prep rally... then again, she was fleeing it too. We had a bowl... planned to go to her dealer's house... He went back to Virginia for military school and stole her $60. -- We found someone to give us good pot... he was an old connection of mine, so if he f'd us over, i'd kill him. We had no way to get to her house from her dealer's house... turned out my bro's friend happened to be dog sitting then ((I don't ask questions)) and gave us a ride across town to her house. We smoked our bowls, went to Bennigans, I went home, and someone was there to greet me in my bed when I got home =) God, that was one of the top ten "gooder" days I've had.
