| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | A freind of mine is running an Athelon 1 gig and it keeps shutting down and wont turn back on. I suspect its overheating. Have any of you experienced thhis? He got it from Systemex WWW.asseenontv.com I dont like it but the price was good. Anyway just lookin for some feedback on this Type of machine.  | ||||

You think because Opak is your mentor, and you are protected. Guess what, no one protects stupidity. So post where it belongs, not where you say it belongs, got it. Good. If I posted it in Gaming You would march your annoying ass in there and say this is gaming not tech support ha ha ha ha. Just shut up thats all you have to do. And no one pissed in my cornflakes Damn Can't anyone be original around here thats all ya here the same sayings over and over. Anyway No one pissed on anything. I am just looking to see if anyone has had the same problem. Oh and by the way WANNABE MOD. If its so important that this post be in gaming a MOD yes a real MOD dictaor of the Board will move it to such place. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Kingpin - there's a reason you're not a mod. This thread is a good example. Froy and Opak have stated "do not go into a thread and say where it belongs. If it belongs in another forum, it will be moved by the mods." In other words, you're not a mod. Stop trying to be. Granted, the gaming forum has been used for computer questions, but as the name of the forum states, it's primarily for GAMING. Forum description is "Discuss all forms of gaming, consoles, PC, arcade, etc." - whereas the Off Topic forum is "Talk about stuff non O&A related here." So, since he didn't say "I'm having trouble with my Athlon 1GHz while trying to play Quake III Arena", I'd say Off-Topic is still a safe place to put this question. As far as Knock is concerned - your friend should check a few things - does the problem happen at any time, or while trying to do one specific thing? Is there a FAN on the processor? Is that fan spinning when the computer is on? If there's no fan, it needs one, right away. If there's a fan and it's obstructed from spinning, or it just dead, it needs a new one fast. I wouldn't suggest turning on the computer until it has an operational fan. Overheating can cause PERMANENT CPU DAMAGE and the thing could just be melted to the point of unusable. As far as the JonBenet pic goes, lighten up. It's a fucking message board, not to mention the pic is something that's been mentioned on the show. And besides, JonBenet's life was much more tragic than her death - NO SIX-YEAR-OLD should have to go through all the primping, beauty contests, and bullshit that her sick fucking parents put her through.  | ||||
