O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00	ive heard the many choruses from the masses that want and, dare i say, NEED(?) their inane topic on a more consistant basis. so i am ready to try and provide it for your reading pleasure:):):) ok I am breaking away from the tried and true tradition of constant food questions and branching out onto other topics entirely. so onto todays topic. i was watching Coyote Ugly the other day and talking about it with my gf and she made an interesting comment. this film is a great T&A showcase but is it more than that?????? so the question of the day...is Coyote Ugly a guy film or (gasp!) a chick flick???????? my vote goes to chick flick. its got some great scenes of women dancing and shaking their assets but in the end, its the story of a women who is trying to make her dream come true. she moves out on her own, falls in love and, in the end, makes her dreams of music stardom come true. all the elements of true chick flick. to paraphrase john johnson, whats your opinion???? I want to know:):):) In each of us there are 2 forces fighting an endless battle. O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00	How sweet it is to have inane discussions at hand once again. Face, I have to agree with you that while there are great scenes to entertain the male masses, the movie is absolutely a chick flick. I daresay that it is much more than that. In my opinion Coyote Ugly is an anthem to a certain sect of the feminist movement. Think of this, it features strong, self sufficient women who utilize their God given assets to get ahead. The lead chickie is chasing her dreams, after having cared for her father for so many years. He is shown as nearly helpless without a woman to coddle him. The bar owner is a blunt, no bullshit broad who handles any problem swiftly and efficiently. The brunette is an ass kicker who readily dispatches unruly men. The other blonde uses her female charms to coerce men into parting with their money. The T&A is intentionally placed as a method of control over the male population, more proof that women are completely aware of the power of the pussah. If this movie doesn't scream chick flick, what does? All that being said, I must admit that in my case "they" have me pegged....show enough leg and this cretin will become a well trained stooge. :) School's out, shouldn't you have a job? O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01	I thought the film would be pretty cool since it was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, but in the end it was just another dolled-up chick flick. Sure, the T&A is nice, but aside from the bar-dancing, there wasn't much else to the movie. Girl goes to big city, meets guy, they fall in love but fall out due to misdunderstanding, then back together, all's well in the end. "The mind is like a parachute - it works best when it is open..." Psychopath Registered: Jul. 01	Coyote Ugly is a perfect example of a movie that was written to fit a market. It's sad really. On the surface, the movie has the booty shakin to pull in the guys, right next to the independant woman thing. Throw in a couple of songs sung by a famous cuntry (not a typo) singer, which is a ready made soundtrack, and you got yourself a movie. It's not like the story was anything special. Who says white boys have no flava? I taste like chicken
