I just rented this last night. What a great effin movie. I was totally blown away by this. Movie was written and directed by the Cohen brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, The Hudsucker Proxy, Raising Arizona just to name a few).
The casting of this movie was superb. They hit the nail right on the head with everyone. George Clooney does an amazing performance in this. Who would have guessed he was a good character actor. Also great performances by John Goodman and John Turturro.

If you are looking for a good movie to rent, this is it. It has a great story, it's a comedy, great music, great everything.

Yeah it's based on the oddessey - its sad that the only great movies these days are ripoffs of old stories..

I agree it was a great movie. Funny, looked great, flowed at a nice pace. Got to love the Coen Brothers. And it isn't a ripoff, it was BASED on the Odyssey that's why it started with an Odyssey quote.

So I just went out and bought the soundtrack from this. Very good. Don't bother getting it unless you see the movie first and actually like the music.

There, now we have black jokes, jew jokes, movies, and music.
