| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01  | This was a topic on the old board, and I found it very interesting to find out the origins of some of your names. Theres alot of new people around here now, so lets give it another shot. Also, does your name fit your personality, or is it just a cool name. Maynard G. Krebs was a character on "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" played by Bob Denver (aka Gilligan). This name was given to me about 8 years ago by a friend because I look like Maynard. He was a beatnik with a mop top hairdo and a goatee. I have cut the hair, but saved the goatee. I have the same care-free attitude that he had, but I don't think I'm lazy like he was.   | ||||

My Original name "Hitokiri182" is a bit more obscure. Orginally from a Japanese show, the Hitokiri Battousai was a samurai who single-handedly won the Bakumatsu and Boshin wars of Japan in the Late 1800's, thus ending the 400 year old reign of the Tokugama Shogunate (the age of the Emporers). Although it is rumored to be a legend, there is some evidence that a man matching the description of the Hitokiri Battousai did actually exist. As for the "182" in my name, that was a jab at my old high school friends. I listen mainly to old punk music. When my MTV-Brain soaked idiot friends would hear that i liked punk music, their usual response was "Punk Music? Oh...like Blink182?" After i would give a 3 hour speech on why Blink182 is not Punk music, they would usually grumble something incoherent and leave. So, i put it in my Screen Name to remind them of their idiotcy every single time i IM them.  Well, it seems like alot of you fucking morons have questions. Roger asked me waht it meant once, and she pretty much hit it on the head. It's sort of a hybrid of "dubious", "devious" as well as being a corruption of my last name. A friend at school in Boston came up with it. I think he was a cracksmoker (j/k Hern). I just added the Lord part because I thought it sounded cool.  Proud Graduate of the AFDude Academy | ||||

The song was called: "The Most Offensive Song" sung to the tune of Barry Manilow's "I Write The Songs".
