am i the only one who doesnt think this guy is funny? i dont get it, everyone ive ever talked to finds him hilarious but i dont understand. his show is sometimes alrite but thats mainly a result of the two guys who play his friends, i dunno i just always see his obvious jokes coming from a mile away. anyone else agree or am i really alone on this one?

It's a Cleveland thing...the guy's fuckin' hilarious. You're not trying hard enough to laugh.

The entire show is great, the three guys and the hot chick play off eachother very well. Lewis and Oswald are hysterical together, and the entire show is great. One of my favorites.

Drew alone, I am not too sure about that.

He rules. His humor is like beer. Either you hate it or you love it. Who's line is it anyway is always good for a laugh.

Comedy Central plays one of his old comedy routines when he was still doing stand up.....it's worth seeing. I still laugh my ass off everytime it's on. Check it out if they ever re-run it again (like how they're starting to re-run Sinbad routines...now there's a guy who is not funny...fuckin' Star Search winner.)

Ryan Stiles... I've been watching Who's Line forever,... he was on every episode of the British version as well, pretty much.

I don't like Mimi, think the British boss is funny, think Kate is hot, and Lewis and Oswald are great. Oswald was also the friend in Office Space.

In numerous threads about TV/Sitcoms I have said that NewsRadio might be the funniest sitcom of all time. Any individual episode of the show and what might be the best ensemble cast in the history of television (Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Stephen Root, Maura Tierney (who I had a bit of a crush on), Andy Dick without totally getting on your nerves) is funnier than an episode Seinfeld or Friends. In a line up of shitty, numerous office sitcom NewsRadio offered an intelligent, hysterical, original take on an old concept. Hartman was the best newsman since Ted Knight's Ted Baxter if not better, Root played the best "out-there" sitcom millionare ever, Dave Foley was awesome and Maura Tierney had the best comedic female role/performance for 5 years on television.

Sure the show was killed with the same bullet that took the life of Phil Hartman but I always felt the final season had a few gems that still made it worthwhile to watch.

I thought Newsradio was "must see TV" until the Hartman murder. I think the cast was too stunned.

As you said, cast was awesome - comedians all. You forgot Joe Rogan, who I saw on some cable tv standup show, and was f-in hilarious.

I like Drew Carey, but it was never as witty as NewsRadio

Newsradio is the last word in sitcoms. It still boggles my mind why their ratings were not as good as friends. Stephen Root probably has the best comedic timing I have ever seen in an actor. There are 3 episodes that stand out in my mind:
-the one where matthew gets the tiny car for his birthday. The part where he's waxing it and dave foley comes over to talk to him is the funniest thing i've ever seen.

-the one where dave's college barber shop quartet shows up and it's the guys from mr. show.

-the radio station talent show where dave performs as the great "throwdinni". Kevin Mcdonald makes his best telivision apperance since kith.

favorite line ever:

jimmy james: "you see dave, I have to keep up with all the other millionaires, Ted Turner, Bill Gates, Bruce Wayne..."
dave: "Bruce Wayne is Batman, sir."
james: "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Yeah the cast was stunned and it showed but the Bill McNeal/Phil Hartman goodbye tribute was the most professional, adult, mature, sensitive Death of Character tributes. They didn't go for the "flashbacks/old clips," they didn't try for the hour rememberence episode. They did it real, they did it like a normal episode, they incorporated humor into it and it was a hell of a send off.

EDIT: One of my favorite episodes is Bill's Autobiography and the scene where Bill's so depressed about he can't think of something to write about he puts on the recorder of him driving into traffic and then you have Dave singing Horse with no name on the other side of the tape.

What exactly happened to Phil Hartman.
I think his wife shot him in the face with a shot gun? As, for Drew his stand up special for comedy central was great.

Drew Carey is a guy you could hang out with and drink many beers, and he's a funny comic. His show may have jumped the shark, but I haven't seen it in a while.

"Newsradio" was a fucking comedy all-star show that had enough ensemble talent to even use Andy Dick properly.

I missed the whole "Everybody Loves The King Of Queens" thing - is any of that good? Ray Romano was killer on that psychiatrist cartoon on comedy central and Kevin James (is that his name) is a decent comic.

Newsradio is one of my favorite sitcoms of all times, behind wings. Remember that show with the pilot brothers? That was a great show too.
