Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I saw this on The Screen Savers last night on Tech TV. Click Start, Run, and type in "hwinfo /ui" (No quotes). This will tell you just about anything you need to know about your computer regarding location of drivers, problems with hardware, etc... Good information for those that like to tweek their systems. O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Did they mention which versions of Windows this trick works under? Some of these commands ike "hwinfo" or "msconfig" only work in the Win9.x series-- those running NT or 2000 might be out of luck. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Theres also a little program out there called SiSoft Sandra thats basically a system info utility. I use it, and though it doesn't fix any problems like a Norton SystemWorks would, it does tell you information that you might not otherwise be able to get (like Mobo info, serial numbers, etc.). quote: I never knew this channel existed until I went on my honeymoon to St. Lucia (they had it on their cable channel lineup - go figure). I'm on TimeWarner cable, and they don't supply it - this is a cool channel, and shows like The Screen Savers are great for the everyday user as far as tips and reviews go. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | quote: It appears you are correct. I tried this on my NT Machine (with admin access), and it doesn't work. I'm not sure if it works on Win 2K. They do mention a program called "Tweak UI" that you can download from Microsoft that works with all version of Windows. It makes it easier to customize the registry. I think you can also get a free verison (eval version) of Sandra. DasDoomper

Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | TECH TV is on the DSS it;s channel 354. Tweak UI is an extremely useful program that Microsoft left out of all versions of windows. Fits on a floppy. The Screen Savers is a good show. Sometimes the host Patrick Norton and Leo Laporte sometime have no idea what the F they are talking about but if you are a beginner to intermediate it's a great show to watch. I like watching Game Spot Tv for the reviews of all games for PC or console.

Email or IM me (I would've mentioned this above, but didn't wanna say it until I was sure I had it). Silent Game has enrolled in summer school. Theres still one seat open!
