Anyone else have this? It frickin' ROCKS!

For those of you unfamiliar with the FirePro series, basically some Japanese geniuses decided to take EVERY Japanese wrestler, EVERY American wrestler, and throw them all into one game without paying copyright royalties.

How? Well, Japanese copyright laws are nothing compared to the US. All they had to do was change the name of every wrestler, so that makes it okay to use their likeness. I don't get it, but I also don't care, cause the game rules.

They made a game called Burning Fire Pro Wrestling for NES and SNES. It sounds exactly the same as what you described. It has all the WCW and some Big name WWF stars (for the day) like Hogan and Piper with different names. The games title mode is impossiblely stupid.

Not coming to the DC, it's OUT on the DC. That game is what this thread is about. It rocks - no real need for online playing, it rocks as it is.

Are you sure it comes with EVERY American wrestler also? I was always under the assumption that it was mostly Japanese wrestlers with a few Americans thrown in. That's why I never bothered to get it.

The game is very customizable to allow you to make almost any American wrestler that isn't in the game.

Pardon me for using the word "every" - of course I first posted this when I first got the game, so I was excited... :) There are 24 wrestlers in the WWF category and 18 in WCW (220 total in the game)...

Also there are others thrown about... the "Free" list has some ECW (Sabu, RVD), Road Warriors Hawk and Animal, and Hulk/Hollywood Hogan. Jyushin Thunder Lyger and Scott Norton are in New Japan, Dory Funk, Jr. and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are in All Japan, and the list goes on. There are plenty of guys you'll recognize.

Also, the matches are fun as hell. Barbed wire/flourescent light matches, exploding cage matches (BIG thumbs up), battle royals.... it's all a lot of fun.

As far as what style it is - if I had to really narrow it down, I guess it's most like the THQ series of games (WCW/NWO World Tour, Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, No Mercy)... I only say that because FPD is a grapple-based game, as is the THQ style. FPD, however, is 2D and cartoon-drawn sprites, so I guess if you can't deal with that, don't waste your time getting FPD.
