O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I'm not sure if they exist, but there might be a converter box/switch available with an S-Video connection for you to use as a pass-thru (much like an RF converter - I am assuming your TV has a coax input). Check out Radio Shack. Also if you find one, you might notice the picture on your TV looking "not that great" as compared to your monitor, due to the fact the signal has to be run through the converter, and your monitor has a way better resolution scale than a traditional TV set. O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | You need to buy one of these. You connect the small plug into the output port on your soundcard (or auxillary output if your card has it, so you dont have to remove your PC speaker line) and the RCA jacks go into the audio inputs on your TV (if it has them). If the TV doesn't have the inputs, the converter box should. Just be careful not to run the wire too close to the TV or anything in the surrounding area that might cause interference. These cables are generally not high-gauged, so they are extremely susceptible to elctro-magnetic interference. MDLax84 has decided to earn his degree in Goatweed University. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Considering that a TV doesn't have near the ammount of resolution that a computer monitor has (unless you are using an HDTV), why would you want to do this? I'm guessing because of a DVD drive on the computer? DasDoomper

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | It depends on the Set Doomper. A friend of mine had a Sony Trinitron monitor (19") on his PC and his games looked awesome. He also had a 32" Sony WEGA TV that his parents weren't using, and when he ran the vid feed to it, it looked sweet - not as crisp as the monitor, but considering it was a 32" screen it looked really nice. Theres nothing like playing CS on a 32" screen. Granted, if it were an average CRT set, the picture might not have been nice enough to justify the size, but WEGAS tend to have a really nice picture no matter what kind of a vid feed you give them. Also, his WEGA wasn't HDTV ready or anything, although it did have something called DRC which was suppossed to somehow work in tandem with an HDTV converter box - we turned the option on, and noticed no appreciable difference. I just bought a 36" XBR, and I can't wait to see how the X-Box is goona look on it - especially since at its core, the X-Box is basically a bare-bones 733Mhz PC. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Not to get off the subject but, how funny is it that as soon as you get that wedding cash we run out and get all types of electronic stuff for the house! The week after I got married I went out and got the 36 inch T.V...and Bose System ..and the DVD player ..and well you get the point.. Hey HGW, it's money far better spent than on a bunch of frying pans right! This message was edited by Opie's Sack Lunch on 9-6-01 @ 8:16 AM

Actually, The TV was the only thing we had bought just before the wedding - we "budgeted" for it :) The DVD, the Home theater set up, etc. I already had. We lucked out with the pots and pans crap as well, since most people actually got that stuff for us through our registry list. I don't mind spending a few $'s on housewares, just as long as its necessary stuff - of course with the wife, what she sees as necessary I usually see as a waste LOL.
