| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01  | Ok, for all you posters out here, let me help you make an informed decision. DO NOT GET AN X-BOX!!! Trust me, this thing smells like a Jaguar's ass. All but like 3 games look like crap (Gotham Racer, Abe, and DOA3) and out of those 3, DOA is gonna be on PS2 within a year. Also, Malice, on of Mr Gate's big games got bought up by Sony (HAW!). The controler is like a big, black hamburger of doom. It's like a Dreamcast controller on Acid. 2 friggin analog sticks AND a control pad? Sounds like someone has a little control issue. Trust me, I work at EB, before you all shell out $500 bucks (BTW Microsoft is makin us sell it for that much) for the next Turbografx, save your money for MGS2, Devil may cry, and all the other goodness coming out this fall. | Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Two analog sticks and a control pad, and microsoft has control issues. Doesn't the controller for Dreamcast and PS2 have the same thing. Also DOA2:Hardcore is on PS2, but if you can find an interview with Itagaki(the creator of the DOA series) he said that DOA is now an Xbox exclusive, because no other system has the power or speed to provide Itagaki with what he needs to create the game the way he wants to. As for games looking like crap other than Oddworld, PGR, and DOA3, what about: Halo, Azurik,UFC:Tapout,WWF Raw is War, Nightcaster, Hunter: The Reckoning, Silent Hill 2: Directors Cut,NHL 2002, Madden 2002, Genma Onimusha, Project Ego, Jet Set Radio Future, Blood Omen 2, Tony Hawk 2x and 3, should I go on? | Hanger-On Registered: Sep. 01 | Quite Simply..it's still microsoft. And the box still needs an OS (a simple one, but still an OS). If it's anything like ME (their latest piece of shit) it will eat resources. You'll play for hours, get to the Big boss. This is it. You are about to kick his ever lovin' ass and then BLUE SCREEN IF DEATH! Please hit every botton on the controller simultaniously in order to reboot.. Hope you remebered to save! BTW - it's not the fact that the controler has 2 analog and a D-pad. It's the posstioning of them. The X-Box has one analog where the Ps2 and the Dramcast have the D-pad on their. It has shoulder buttons like an N64 controller, and Face buttons like a 6 button genesis controller (if I'm remebering right). | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Rufus, I believe XBox will be running on Windows CE, which is an OS mostly used on appliances, handhelds, and such.... and oh yeah, Dreamcast. My DC has never crashed. Neither has my computer - with Microsoft Windows 2000. Calm down on your lame attempts to just stab at Microsoft for their name. And anyone that would rather play Halo on X-Box rather than a PC is smoking something. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | The fact of the matter is this: Microsoft should work on getting on thing working before they move to another. Windows ME blows. And DOA3 IS coming out on PS2 next year in a directors cut type edition. If you've seen HALO running it moves no better than Tribes 2. Why would people want to buy ANOTHER edition of Tony Hawk 2 when 3 is just around the corner for PS2? It's not going to be on another system for like a 6 months to a year. Raw, Gotham, and Abe look ok....but Fuzion Frenzy?!? WTF would you launch a console with that hunk of ass cheese? And the Silent Hill director's cut and Metal Gear X look just as good as the normal PS2 ones. Click, Click, Boom! | ||||

GC will might as well be called KidCube, cause that's what it'll be. I'll just stick to my PC for games. I can play way better games at MUCH nicer resolution (1280x1024), full screen, without ANY choppy graphics. None of the stupid shitty consoles can say that. I think Bill Gates has too much money invested in this thing for it to fail, but you never know. If you don't like Microsoft then don't buy it. If you have researched the games for a while and hate them, THEN DON'T BUY IT! I on the other hand think the games look really cool and worth the money. But I guess we'll see November 8th. | Psychopath Registered: Sep. 01 | If the games are entertaining, it's worth the purchase. I am a lifelong user of Nintendo products and TO ME, they always fulfill their expectations. And over the years, my friends have lent me their Genesis, PSX, DC, PS2 and I just can't get into those games like I can my N64 and other systems made by Nintnedo. This along with the fact that I have a hatred for Microsoft and I come to the conclusion that Gamecube, even though it's childish, is the system for me. Granted, I should test play an X-Box before I make a judgement on it, I will not trust the machine of a company which video game is at best it's third concern at the moment. Nintendo cut back on making the Gamecube DVD compatible for the sad excuse that it was focusing itself solely on gaming, but that is the truth about Nintendo, they are a video game company that will employ all its resources into the ensured succes of it's next cornerstone system.  | ||||

Why spend money on constant upgrades for your computer when you can buy a console and not worry about requirements. And then because every PC is different, you have to download patches to fix some of the bugs and glitches. I see the amount of great PC games like Deus Ex and Half Life decreasing and more great console games increasing because game developers are finally given the power of a PC, in the form of an Xbox. Of course not one of just about every poster here should even begin making these ass backwards comments, as I bet none of you have even touched a GameCube or XBox (And no, toying with it for 2 seconds at E3 does not count). I use a GameCube and Xbox at work every day, but you don't see me going off like a moron. Why? They are both great in thier own ways. | ||||

It is on of the most amazing looking games that I have ever seen.
