| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01  | Alright,... there was a grudge match on www.gamespy.com, a while back... the feature seems to be down currently, but having experience with both games, who has l3373r sk1llz? Garret from the Thief series or Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series? Who would win in a fight to the death? Here's my take on it: Garret is better at sneaking; he has to be, because he faces enemies without severe short-sightedness and deafness. Snake can RUN right next to a soldier who wont see or hear him. He can kill a soldier and the sound of his body hitting the floor or his grunting doesn't alert his buddy standing right next to him. In Theif, they say its easier to sneak than to fight, and they arent kidding. In Metal Gear, you can whip out your assault rifle and clear a room if you like. In Theif, if more than one guard sees you, youre in trouble. Now, on to their abilites which will affect the deathmatch. Snake has weapons... big weapons. Garret has a few fancy arrows, a sword and a sap. Now, the sword is fairly useless. However, he can walk while crouching and still use his weapon. Snake has to crawl to move low to the ground. Another big advantage to Garret is that he is able to jump. We've seen Snake only jump once, out of the water in the bunker which contained Metal Gear Rex, after he went to find the PAL card. However, since he's out on firepower, Garret is going to make this a sneaking match. Here, Snake has the advantage because he has a 3rd person view, so he can see behind him,... however, his radar is limited, whereas Garret sees from a first person perspective as far as the engine has rendered. I'd give him the advantage in the match if he can get himself quickly to a dark corner (so his gem is completely black) and wait with an arrow. Anyone else have an opinion on this? No need if your opinion is that I've put too much thought into this... I know.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | In a deathmatch : Snake would win. He has guns and is pretty tough. I sure he could take a few arrows -> no big deal. Now Stinky..uh..I mean..Garret sneaks around because he can't take a bullet or two...and that's the only reason.
