| Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01  | I thought I'd get some input from you homies. First, how is anyone getting their Gamecube? Most places are not doing preorders. I know my store is only doing ~$400 bundles, which I hate. I think amazon.com is doing the same. Ebworld.com did some preorders then stopped after like a day. It's interesting, the story I heard was that some distributers (Software ETC, Gamestop, others) stared preoreders last Christmas. But Nintendo told them to stop and not allow anymore. In February, they were told to start up again but then were quickly told to stop again. Nintendo then told them and other distributers (Electronic Boutique, EBX, Babbages, who never got to do any preorders) that Nintendo will contact them in the summer with info about the preordering for Gamecube. That information never came. Nintendo never notified any distibuter about availability information except for 700K units nationwide. Which is why I was curious if anyone here had any information about this. Next, I want to discuss the new Zelda and Metroid Prime for Gamecube. I understand that I have not played either of the games yet, and thus I will not judge them by their appearance. But I must say I am not happy about the decision to green light these radical new versions of the games. I've been waiting for almost 8 years for the next Metroid game, and I am greated with Doom with an arm cannon. I am not pleased. I also got excited when I saw the origional Gamecube Demo movie with Link fighting Gannondorf. I said "Holy ess this looks good." Now we see the new redesigned Zelda and I shudder. To sum it up the best, lemmy quote a kid at my store who read the article in EGM out load. "Sweet! Paper Zelda! I hope the dumb gooks get cancer for this!" Again, for all I know these could be the best Link and Metroid yet, but Im still a little pissed. Thoughts anyone?  Thanks for the pic, Sephiroth "Gimmy the bat, faggit" "I AM ZEROMUS. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | i had considered gamecube for a while, but have decided to wait til april before purchasing a new system. til then, my ps2 and dreamcast will have to do. as for where to get them...find a person who works at the toys r us warehouse and get on that list. that is an internal warehouse list, so your unit will come off hte truck and into your hands before it even gets to a store. thats how i got my ps2 last year on opening day...just a thought, hope it helps... | Psychopath Registered: May. 00 | ive always thought the grafix on the nintendo systems to be far superior to their competition... the grafix always look GREAT, but game concept and diversity always seems to be lacking :( also, part of the problem w/ nintendo is that developing for the cartridges is so much more difficult than developing for cd/dvd... so maybe w/ the switch to the mini-dvd, more developers will get on board w/ nintendo. | Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 01 | I was raised on Nintendo, so I'll most likely pick one up. The graphics are astonishing and as of now, it will have the latest, updated WWF game. Now I've got AIDS, and I don't feel so good, so I think I'll go out and share it with my neighborhood. | ||||
