Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I just snagged myself an OEM home and professional version of XP for my computers. does anyone know if Norton Internet Security 2001 works with XP, or do I need to get the 2002 version? 2001 works fine on Win 2K and NT, which is essentially what XP is, so I was just wondering. Anyone try it? DasDoomper

I removed my system works 2001 and reinstalled 2002 after I went to XP and it runs fine for me. Click here for 2001 removal Click here for 2002 installation You can reach me through AIM or email. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Do you feel that System works is worth it for an NT based machine? I can understand using it with Win 9X type computers, but is it needed on NT, 2K, or XP? The NTFS is pretty well maintained by the computer. What are the other perks sys works 2002 gives the NT machines? DasDoomper

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Sorry, I didn't realize I linked the System Works steps (I had them linked in my favorites). My machine is configged for FAT32, never bothered with NTFS to be honest - and System Works has been a godsend for me more than once. I used to use NIS for it's firewall, but it kept crashing on me (when I was on Win98SE) so I dumped it for ZoneAlarm and haven't looked back - I'm still a fan of NAV, and as I said System Work's utilities have proven very effective for me (especially Ghost and their disk optimizer utility). On that note, I would assume the uninstall/reinstall of 2001-2002 would still apply to NIS - Unfortunately it means shelling out more money for a new version, but if you work in lower manhattan you'll find it on every street corner ;) You can reach me through AIM or email. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Just and FYI, I did install Win XP, and NIS 2001 is NOT compatable. Norton Anti-Virus doesn't work either. You will need to get the new version of the software. DasDoomper
