| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00  | here's the story for AM to spank to here and to summarize XP which was billed ast hte most secure version is apparently the most hack into-able that allow hackers to take control of the entire system and programs in other words giving the hacker full control of the machine running XP. A free patch is available at the Microsoft homepage. Well just a careful warning for those of you with XP and a laugh for those anti-Microsoft. And note, I summarized the story without posting the whole thing.  "It appears my wee wee has been strucken with rigor mortis." | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I don't think it will let M$ know you (and I) are running hacked XP versions unless it needs to "confer" with an M$ server - My status is activated as far as my XP is concerned, so I don't think its an issue - but I'll have to wait till I get home and try it to be sure. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | What's amazing is that this has been known by M$ for 5 weeks. I find it ironic that they finally fixed it when the media finds out. They say they should be quiet while they fix it but if they never say anything they will never fix it. It should be safe to dl it. I would expect some problems with Service Pack 1 though.
