| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01  | I orginally posted this request for help in the music forum, but it fell on deaf ears so I figured I might be able to get more help here. Heres my dilemma.My school has recently added some sort of filter that limits transfer speeds on Mp3 downloads from file sharing programs like Audiogalaxy, Morpheus and the like. While I have a blazing fast T1 connection that lets me navigate the web really well, whatever they have done, only allows me ridiculously slow download speeds of like 100 bytes per second and less. I know that these programs are inconsistent and greatly depend on the other persons connection but the slow speeds are constant and we've been told they limit them so that all of the school's bandwith will not be used. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to circumvent this problem, whether it be changing the proxy setings or anything ike that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | It's fast enough where i can get 275/k plus when doing direct downloads from the net like on download.com. Granted it's not all it could be, but it suffices save for the filters. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02 | Um... If they put the filters in place they obviously don't want you downloading those things....I would suggest that you follow the policy or face repercussions....Trust me, I know from experience. | ||||
