Has anyone else picked up this game for the PS2? I just did this afternoon and I'm not as pleased with it as I thought I would be.
Granted the graphics are beautiful, but the selection of boxers is pretty weak. There are a lot of boxers to start with, but I don't even recognize 1/2 to 3/4 of the names. I consider myself to be a pretty big boxing fan and the fact that I don't know these boxers leads me to believe they may not even be real people. I thought the whole idea of EA Sports boxing games was to add a lot of the big time names from the past and present. It's been that way the past two or three years for this game.
I sure hope there are hidden boxers and arenas to be unlocked because I find it very strange that Rocky Marciano is no longer available and either is Madison Square Garden.
Now on to what I feel is wrong with the game. I ran an exhibition match between the CPU to see who the best boxers are. I ran a mini tournament to see who would make the finals. It wound up being Sugar Ray Robinson vs Muhammad Ali. Now granted Robinson was a great fighter in his time, but bottom line is he was a middleweight. There should have been no way he could dominate a heavyweight, let alone one who is considered by many to be the greatest like Ali. Well in two fights Robinson dominated and then knocked out Ali in the 4th and 5th rounds of both fights. No way in hell that would ever happen in real life. I can't believe EA screwed up that bad in creating the boxers.
I'm just wondering if any of you got this game and what you thought of it. Also if you have it, whether you know or not if there are hidden things to unlock.
Thanks Mrs. Moosen for the pics.
You are getting good at this cut & paste thing.

Alright, now I know there's really a problem with this game.
Now I just setup Roberto Duran (Lightweight) to fight Muhammad Ali (Heavyweight). No way in a million years would a lightweight beat a heavyweight, especially not when they are both as skilled as they were.
Duran knocked out Ali in the 11th round and pretty much dominated the whole fight. He must have knocked him down 10-12 times total.
Fucking do a little better testing EA before you put this crap out!
