ok...I hate coding HTML cause I suck at it (and I'm too lazy to try and get any better at it). I want to create a sort of users manual that doesn't necessarily have to be ultra fancy (ie java scripts and what not) but I would like it look nice and not just straight text. Which do you think would do the best job for least amount of money with a very small learning curve?

I own both, and if it's just going to be simple, then I think FrontPage would be the better option. The themes just make stuff like this simple. However, FP themed webs usually look really bland. Of the two when it comes to "I want it to look awesome" quality, DW4 is EASILY the better editor. Cleaner code, no special server extensions required, and it integrates with Fireworks and Flash like they are all parts of the same puzzle.

If you are using these responses as a "Which one should I buy to make me happy in the long run?" decision, go with DW4. If you have access to both programs, FP will do it quick and dirty.

Dreamweaver creates cleaner code and will create better, faster pages. Of course, knowing html will help you streamline it a bit better.

You listen to me! While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is I am a nay-sayer and a hatchet man in the fight against violence! I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method...is love. I love you, Sheriff Truman.

Hows about a fresh copy of BBEdit under your
Christmas tree? Ahhhhh.... long nights of
coffee and code await you in the land of raw
HTML!

DW is the best. When I made pages for fun I really hated FrontPage. Most of the code would fuck up. So now I ONLY use DW since the coding is cleaner and it's very easy to make a professional looking page if you put your head to it.

Definitely Dreamweaver. Frontpage blows it out of my ass. When I used I kept getting crap like this nbsp&% all over the page. And I would have to go take it out by hand in the html. Frontpage sucks. Plus Dreamweaver is the ultimate piece of html software.
