| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I'd say THPS2 in the top 5 is likely the most controversial one there, but this thing has replay value out the wazoo. As Ive said previously, I spent two or three months on the Versialles DEMO.

| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Even though it wasnt the greatest game ever, to leave out Conker's Bad Fur Day, I think is a mistake, it was a game like no other and definitely original,and I think that is part of being a great game. | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Feb. 01 | I have to agree with the original Legend of Zelda as #1, I remember playing that game for hours. It was probably the most complete game of it's time, perhaps ever. It was a milestone, of all the games I've played, it is the one that still stands out as being almost majestic. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Picking apart the list... First, I don't like the way PC games were included in what seems to be a console-based list. If they're going to give PC games representation, that's fine, but to not put them on an equal plane as the console games, seems to defeat the whole purpose. On a list with such forgettable titles as Cool Boarders II, Road Rash, Bionic Commando, Dr. Mario (ok, they're not bad, but not top 100 either), they leave out Diablo, Wolfenstein 3D, KQVI, and QFGIII??? And Civilization is only #62?? That shit's not right. There's also a very strong Nintendo bias, and a bias towards newer games in general. Sure, there are a few token classic arcade games, and a few Atari games, but there's NO Intellivision, which is a crime. Anyway... 100) Ape Escape Surprised to see this, but a good choice. Very underrated game. 94)Phantasy Star Good game, sure, but PSII and Online are so much better. 93)Ninja Gaiden Probably should be higher. Very popular, challenging, and influential. 90)Super Bomberman I'd have this higher too. The ultimate party game. 84) RC Pro Am Uh, why?? Not a bad game, but top 100??? 83) Kid Icarus I LOVE this game, but again, top 100? 81) Age Of Empires 80) The Sims If this list put PC games on an equal level, these games should be top 25. 79) Pro Wrestling Tecmo World Wrestling was 100 times better. 75) Double Dragon Good choice. 74) Soul Calibur 73) Twisted Metal II 72) Robotron 2084 71) Banjo Kazooie 70) Zork Must be the "filler" section. 69) Resident Evil Code Veronica The best RE game. 68) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask As much as I love the Zelda series, this game was just...too much. 64) Gauntlet Great game, ahead of it's time, I probably wasted more quarters on this than any other game when I was a kid. 62) Civilization Top 3. Greatest PC game EVER, spawned a new genre. 62 is an insult. 60) Donkey Kong The list needs more classics. 59) Tekken 2 My second favorite fighting game ever. 58) Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening Best Game Boy game ever. Nice. 57) Arkanoid Word. I was pissed when my NES Arkaniod controller broke, it's impossible with the regular control pad. 55)Chrono Cross One of the most disappointing sequels ever. Off the list. 54) Tenchu: Stealth Assassins Great game, great replay value, but TOO EASY!!! 53) Metal Gear The original was nothing special. 52) Lode Runner Huh? 50) Virtua Tennis Who would've thought tennis would be this great?? Good choice. 49) Half Life: Counterstrike Can't really argue here. 48) Castlevania I'd have Castlevaina III on the list, it was SO much better. The original doesn't hold up well. 47) Adventure OLD SCHOOL!!! 46) Super Mario World Higher, Higher, HIGHER!!! This game RULED it. Top 10 for replay value alone. 44) Excitebike The create-a-track feature probably got it this high. Eh, whatever... 42) Star Wars X-Wing Where's Tie Fighter?? 41) Pitfall Classic. 40) Final Fantasy II IV in Japan. Great game. 39)Pokemon Red/Blue Maybe some day, I will get this Pokemon thing. Maybe... 38) Tecmo Bowl At the time, blew away every other football game out there. 37) Dragon Warrior Introduced more people to RPG's than any game ever. It's boring as hell these days (II and III kick it's ass so hard), but on influence alone, it's up here. 36) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 Fun, but a bit high. Not better than FFII or Super Mario World. 35) Super Mario Kart One of the most fun games ever. Top 20. 34) Resident Evil 2 Overrated, but still really good. Just too easy. 33) Everquest Top 20. EVERCRACK!!! 32) Mega Man 2 The best Mega Man game. 31) Sim City Should be top 10. Of course, it was topped by 2k and 3k, but the original was so great for so long, it should be higher. 30) Super Mario 2 Ugh. Another disappointing sequel. 29) Super Metroid Why was there no Metroid 64? 26) Crash Bandicoot: Warped Crap. 25) Warlords (Atari 2600) Why can't I remember this one? 24) Sonic the Hedgehog Sure. 23) The Legend of Zelda Link to the Past I'd probably have this a bit higher. Great update of Zelda, after the awful Adventures of Link. 22) Street Fighter II THE fighting game. Top 10. 20) NHLPA 93 Interesting choice. I can't argue though, took sports games to a new level at the time. 19) Galaga Nice to see, but it's way too high. 18) Castlevanis: Symphony of the Night The best Castlevania game, and an AMAZING soundtrack. 17) Metal Gear Solid No way. It's good, but not that good, and not challenging enough. 16) Golden Eye 007 Best N64 game besides Ocarina of Time. Multiplayer kicked fuckin' ass. 15) Chrono Trigger Top 3. The RPG of RPG's. 14) Mike Tyson's Punch Out I'd put this ahead of... 13) Contra Impossible without the code. Great game, but doesn't have the personality and replay value of Punch Out. 12) Super Mario 64 I'd put Goldeneye ahead of this. Still good game, top 25. 11) Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Of course. 10) Final Fantasy VII Overrated. One of the weakest FF's. 9)Ms Pac Man Can't argue with this really. Hours of addictive entertainment. 8) Super Mario 3 I saw The Wizard, did you? 7) Final Fantasy III The BEST FF game. I'd have this ahead of... 6) Metroid But that's just me. 5) Doom Come on. Doom II is where it's at!!!!! And where's Quake?? 4) Tony Hawk Pro Skater II Bah. That is bullshit. 3)Tetris I could have written many novels with the time I wasted on this game. It ruled, and still rules. 2) Super Mario Brothers A little high, no? Nostalgia is a good thing, but when the sequels are all SO much better (except 2), it shouldn't be this high. 1)Legend of Zelda For the few years after it came out, this was THE game. Everyone played it, and at the time, it was NOTHING like anything anyone had seen before. My top 10 would probably look like: 1 - Civilization 2 - The Legend of Zelda 3 - Chrono Trigger 4 - Tetris 5 - Sim City 6 - Street Fighter II 7 - Final Fantasy III 8 - King's Quest 9 - Doom II 10- Super Mario World Or something like that... | ||||

My top 10: 1.Super Mario 64 2.Civilization 3.SMB3 4.Zelda 5.Castlevania: SOTN 6.Metroid 7.Final Fantasy 7 8.Chrono Trigger 9.Half-Life 10.Metal Gear Solid I was thinking that Deus Ex should be up there, but I think I should wait on that one. Too soon. I don't care what anyone else says, but I love FFVII. LOVE IT. Despite all of its faults, it is still a game I could play all the way through at any time, as I am now. Even with Gran Turismo 3 sitting right next to the PS2. | ||||
