SCOTT STEINER UPDATE

by Dave Scherer Updated: 10/4/2001 2:06:59 PM

Scott Steiner has still not fully recovered from the foot injury that he received last March while still wrestling for the Time Warner-owned WCW. He has still yet to regain full use and control of his left foot and has a condition where the foot flops on him when he walks on it. From what I have been told, he has regained much of the downward motion in the foot but still has problems moving it upward. He is continuing to rehab his foot and it doesn't look like he will be ready to return to action until early 2002. The positive aspect of this is while he has been on the sidelines, his back, which he underwent surgery on last year, has been given a lot of time to rest and more time to heal.

Every WWF source I speak with has told me that the WWF wants to bring Steiner in as soon as he is healthy. Jim Ross has said the same thing in the Ross Report. Steiner is said to be the primary piece of WCW talent that the WWF wanted when they bought the company, but the injury sidelined any immediate plans that they had of using him. Steiner's Time Warner contract expires in December, and I fully expect him to be in the WWF, or the Alliance off shoot group, by next year.

I have an idea. How bout when Scott comes back, they have Ric Flair come back with him, but as his manager. The Nature Boy really does know how to promote someone, and he can be the insane Nature Boy, where he is funny as hell. Let both of them be in the Alliance, but as a seperate section, ala Booker T and Test. How great would that be. And hell, if they want, they can get Little Nature Boy Charles Robinson be their official referee in Scott's matches. All i know is that the countdown of Big Poppa Pump to the WWF has begun!!

Umm..I'm no doctor, but something like that seems like it would take alot longer to heal than about 4 months to make the early 2002 prediction. By the time he'll be able to get back into wrestling shape, it should be around summertime, and hopefully by then this whole WWF vs alliance storyline will be over.

Where did you EVER get that impression? Flair's departure from the WWF in 1993 was one of the few times in the history of pro wresrtling that a name THAT big left a federation under not just friendly, but reportedly GREAT circumstances.

And what about the ten million times Flair has been THIS close to signing with the WWF when his contract ran out (I remember some time in 1996 he was supposedly real close) but stayed in WCW for the money. He had no prob with Vince there.

How about when Bischoff (the only promoter after he left WCW in 1991 he wouldn't work with and yet still did, even wrestling him) screwed him over with his kid and he tried hard as hell to get out of his WCW contract and wanted to jump to the WWF so bad just to piss Eric off?

How about all the times he went on an interview after the WWF bought WCW and did nothing but kiss McMahon's ass up and down and said he'd LOVE to be part of the invasion angle, and heard alot of WWF people say the same about him, but he's got alot of gauranteed money, money the WWF doesn't want to equal for a guy who won't even wrestle, and so will wait til his contract is up sometime next year when it is FULLY expected by every trustworthy wrestling rumor reporter (both of em) that Flair will go the WWF at THAT time?

So, I ask you, WHERE IN GOD'S NAME did you get THAT impression? Just wondering.

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO!
