| Well, after a decent Raw, it seemed like Smackdown was more of the same old shit that they've been dishing out for months. Too much focus on the McMahon family, and not enough on the wrestlers. And now the scheduled Raw main event is Vince vs. Shane, as if anyone really wants to see that again.
I think the main reason (even though there are many) that the invasion angle failed is that instead of it being WWF wrestlers vs. the rebel alliance trying to take over, it has been Vince with his toys vs. Shane and Steph with their new toys. It's as if they're telling the audience NOT to care about the wrestlers themselves, all you really need to care about is the McMahon soap opera. [Homer]BORING![/Homer]
My questions for the board:
Are you as sick of the McMahons as I am?
Besides Stephanie's cans, do any of them have any positive qualities these days?
Would you still watch the WWF if none of them had a role in the storylines?
Would putting more focus on the actual wrestlers and the in-ring product, and less focus on the McMahon soap opera, be a good thing?

| ah comon, the only mcmahon i dont like is linda, her voice is scrawnier than grandpa simpson, she is a terrible actor, we need HBK to come back and atleast have a commish or backstage kind of role,or if not HBK, at least bring back the Sarge :)

| will agree that part of the reason the invasion
angle bombed was cause of the mcmahons, but thats
only half of it. when u thought of invasion, i
was thinking like goldberg vs. austin and shit
like that. not the dudleys against like rock and
y2j. the only real names they were able to get
were booker t, ddp, and of course rvd. no
steiner, goldberg, flair, sting, or anyone else.
if they would have had all the big names from wcw,
then i think it would have gone over well. but it
turned out mainly being wwf vs. wwf.

| Too Much Mcmahons, Get outta here.
Just Vince alone comming back on TV was a good thing You know that with vince back Something is up.
With Shane? I really see no need for him to be on That many show. The part Shane plays could be very well played by another wrestler who needs exposure or a commissioner. All he does is follow Booker T around.
Stephanie... Well i olove to see them boobs. She can be on every day as long as she wears something more revealing every day.
LINDA. Get her the fuck off. Don't wanna see her.

| Vince: the best of the bunch; hope he's learned his appearances on the shows have more of an impact when they're few and far between.
Linda: Stay behind the scenes...please!
Shane: Good in moderation (moderation being the key word here); I'm a huge Shane-O Mac mark, and even I know there's such a thing as Shane overkill.
Steph: Get this bitch off my screen now. Her 15 minutes in the spotlight have been up 6 hours ago. Tight outfits and purposely screeching into the mic do not an affective heel make, nor does booking 45 minutes of airtime for yourself on every Raw & Smackdown.

That my freind is true. Oh yeah its true. I'll preffer to see them only when something big is up. Like vince comming out saying he's tired of this invasion crap. It has more of an impact because he has not been on TV for a while

| As long as a McMahon owns the WWF, McMahon storylines will prevail. Grin and bear it, or shut it off.

| Not necessarily, Noelle.
The WWF went for years upon years without any McMahons in angles. Hell, Vince was a goddamn announcer for the longest time. And a damn good one, actually.
Unfortunately, the Fed is suffering from an old WCW ailment that I like to call NWO Syndrome. In the WWF's case, this has nothing to do with the actual NWO.
The NWO Syndrome exists in the minds of the bookers and writers. It is the thought that "here is an angle that made our company explosively popular. Let's think of every possible way to re-use and re-write this angle to keep it going. We'll be strong forever! Mwahahaha!"
See the flaw with NWO Syndrome? The McMahons are the same damn thing. Austin vs. McMahon was huge. Vince vs. Shane was huge the first time. So if these huge things keep going, and last forever, WWF will be on top forever! Right? R-right?
Eventually they'll finally give in to the smarts once they're in the toilet.
No more droogs for me, for adoption is over.

While many fans and WWF employees (including wrestlers) become more and more unhappy with the WWF's storylines, Vince McMahon is said to be thrilled with how things are. And if you think there's any chance the McMahons are going anywhere, just remember: they'll have a dozen new excuses for being on TV when HHH returns.
Just somthing I saw on the web...
