 | Ok, here's my attempt at serious discussion without bitching about everything.
What do you guys think about Kurt Angle, and the way he's portrayed in the WWF? Personally, I think he's a great wrestler and great talker, and he really is the future of the WWF. But, they're portraying him horribly and he doesn't seem to have the freedom to work an in-ring style that would most benefit him.
The guy is an olympic gold medalist, yet he's portrayed as a wimp. He should be outwrestling EVERYONE on the mat and the only way he should be defeated is through heel cheating tactics or, in the case of an Austin, through vicious brawling. Yet, they've even had guys like Undertaker and Kane sticking with him, sometimes getting the best of him, on the mat - a place where he's proven to legitametely be one of the best in the world. It not only kills his credibility, but it kills the credibility of the WWF as a company. He'd be much better off playing the no-nonsense WRESTLER, not the goofy weakling who seemingly gets punked out regularly. Just look at his match at last Wrestlemania against Benoit, the fans loved and respected the matwork, but I guess some people still feel that that's not what fans want to see.

| i like the way he is right now. he could obviously outwrestle everyone on the mat, but if he did that every match it wouldnt be exciting at all.(or even less than it is now)

| I'm not saying that all his matches should be strictly matwork. But he'd be better off portrayed as a master mat technician, and his opponents would have to get the best of him by attempting to avoid actually wrestling him, through brawling, flying, heel tactics, etc. Of course, the announcers would need to really put over Angle as a wrestler, and let the fans know that when someone's in the ring against Angle, they're automatically at a disadvantage due to his credentials. I think it would get over huge.

Actually, when Benoit finally returns, it'd be great to see him thrown against Angle. Both of them have INSANE technical ability.
And actually, shortly after Austin's big return, he had some great technical matches against Angle, not the usual Austin brawl....
But yeah, the wacky wimp doesn't really suit him.

| Kurt Angle is my favorite wrestler right now. I have met him a few times and he is a good guy. In the WWF, he makes who he is. If they portray him as a goofy guy, he has the talent to make that persona be the best it can be. Also, he was great when they actually let him wrestle (match against benoit, first match against stonecold...when stonecold was originally good and angle was originally bad on raw). Same thing as when he was a tough ass making people tap out all the time. Some of the best skits of last year were done with him (milk truck, cowboy hat with austin, etc). Right now, i think he is doing great in the WWF.
He won the title so quickly that no one took him seriously. Now, he has taken a step back, which will help him in the long run. And this rivalry with HHH will be great for him. The next time he wins the world title, he will be more respected than he was before.

I remember that, there was the one Raw match where Angle suplexed Austin like a million times, attacking the neck. It was great.quote:
