It will be interesting to see what they do different with this one. It should be obvious that Hogan and Lawler can no longer be on the roster because they have contracts with the WWF now but anything is possible.

They're not actually going to be in the game, per se; they would be wearing gadgets and gizmos while performing basic moves to help the designers give the game a more fluid, realistic movement. Matt and Jeff Hardy were doing the same thing for WWF video games during their jobber days.

Why not? Isn't Rob Van Dam an unlockable wrestler in the game? And I think he had his contract before the game was designed.

I don't have a PS2 (X-Box here) but I have heard nothing but bad things about this game. If they're making a second one, they should listen to what the fans have said about the first one and improve upon it.

Actually no he is one of the wrestlers already available to you. And the game blows it has no options, the control sucks, the ring entrances blow the guys high five air, and the matrix sytle cam really gets old after you see it 10 times in a match.
