O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Granted, it's still a little over 3 weeks away, but they have already booked or hinted at certain matches for Wrestlemania. This has always been considered the biggest PPV of the year, but in my opinion it is shaping up to be total dog shit! Let's look at what is or most likely will be on the card. HHH vs Jericho - Big fucking deal! Like HHH hasn't beaten Jericho 3 or 4 times already since he's been in the WWF. You are supposed to believe that the face challenger is the underdog, therefore making the victory bigger. How is HHH the underdog here? Because Stephanie is gonna be in Y2J's corner? Ooooh, I'm scared. Shit main event in my opinion. Rock vs Hogan - Give me a fucking break! Hogan is so bad, he's gonna make the Rock look like fucking Jeff Hardy here. I know why they are doing it because they want to hype the Battle of The Two Best Ever, but wouldn't Austin be better suited for that role. The Rock is good, but Austin made the WWF what it is in the late 90's to today. I pray Hogan shatters his hip when he goes for the Leg Drop. Austin vs Hall - WHY?!?!?! Hall has never truly been a main eventer. All of a sudden after wasting away in rehab and then sitting on his ass collecting a paycheck he didn't deserve, he's gonna be thrown into a high profile match with the biggest wrestler today? Nash would have been a better choice here. Now, speaking of Nash. Nash vs ? - That's right. Just who is Nash wrestling? Furthermore, with HHH, Austin & The Rock all booked, who can Nash wrestle that would be of ANY interest? Possibly RVD, but even that sounds stupid. Flair vs Undertaker - I know Flair said he wasn't going to, but you all know it's going down. Early to mid 90's, this would have been a main event, but now it's just two old men way past their prime. This by far will probably be the worst match of the PPV, maybe even the year. Edge vs Regal - You know this has to go down one last time with Edge winning the IC title in his hometown. Most likely it will be a specialty match like a Cage or Last Man Standing. This one has some potential. A.P.A. vs New Tag Champs (scroll to the end to find out who) - Umm, they've beaten them already. Why do we have to be subjected to this crap again? All we can hope for is possibly a Triple Threat, Four Corners or special stipulation matchup here to somewhat liven up this poor excuse of a tag title match. I'm sure there will be more matches like DDP defending the European title, Maven defending the Hardcore, and Jazz defending the Women's, but how exciting can any of these be either. All in all, if I am right on most if not all of these, then I may not even bother wasting my $40-$50. This is truly shaping up to be the worst Wrestlemania in history. ***SPOILER*** - Billy & Chuck beat Spike & Tazz on Smackdown to become the new tag team champs. That most likely makes it an A.P.A. vs Billy & Chuck tag title matchup. YIPPEE!!! "What are you speaking, German Brian?" Brian, what the hell are you talking about?"

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Flock, you're right. Now it's looking like shit. But 4 weeks until Mania, there could be many changes. Angle could be added to the WWF Championship Match, then it would be a good match. There's not much we can do about the mid-cards, they usually always suck, RVD's matches being the exception most of the time. As for Rock vs. Hogan, yeah, Rock definatley isn't the greatest of all time. But if it were to be Austin vs. Hogan, it would need more time develope, Austin vs. Hogan would be even bigger, and it needs more time. Why do you say Hall couldn't take Austin? Hall is a main eventer, do you think that in order to be a main eventer you have to be a former Champion? Obviously Hall is important because he was one of the original 3 nWo members and he was the one who challenged the WCW on Nitro. I think Hall vs. Austin will be even better than Hogan vs. Rock. We have 4 weeks until WrestleMania and you are already posting about the card. Just wait, things are bound to change. We have no clue if HBK, or Benoit will be involved yet. Angle doesn't have a match, neither Nash. Give it time.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Thanks rageparty, I completely forgot about Angle. As it stands now there really is nowhere for him to go. He's wrestled everyone and has both beaten and lost to them all. Doing it again would just be redundant. As far as Benoit goes, he was originally supposed to be back by Wrestlemania, but latest reports are saying it may not be until late Spring/early Summer for his return. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | That for sure won't happen. Austin is feuding with Scott Hall, and if Austin gets another chance why doesn't Kurt Angle? He beat HHH at No Way Out but lost it on Raw. For that reason, I think Angle will be added to the main event.

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02 | Did you even see No Way Out? Angle won with the help of Stephany. HHH had it won but she had to screw him in the end. Angle should have been DQ by Steph after Angle used a chair on HHH. But no. All she did was screw with HHH and cost him his shot at Mania. And what did HHH do to even get that match. He won the Rumble and didn't have to do it but he did. Angle doesn't deserve a shot at the title if it is a triple threat at Mania.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | If there's a triple threat, it's got to be H/CJ/Angle. Storyline-wise, Angle will whine that he had the title shot and had no right to lose it. In reality, it would actually be a good match, seeing as how it has 3 guys who can actually fuckin wrestle. Austin/Hall - Austin would definitely carry it. If Hall can somehow lay off the sauce and get into shape, it may be a match worth watching. I'd lobby for a ladder match just for cool nostalgia factor. Rock/Hogan - Austin may be the guy who got them where they are, but Rock has definitely surpassed him in popularity (who fucking knows why), so he'd be the guy, I guess. And Hogan is.. well, Hogan. The match? Will fucking suck. Two guys who can't wrestle their way out of a wet paper bag, and wouldn't sell a nuclear explosion. Nash... I keep holding out hope that the Flair thing will be deemed as FUCKING STUPID as it is and Nash/Taker will be the match. Even though they're two slow, lazy, no-sellers, it seems to be the only reasonable matchup for Nash. Who else would they throw him against? Kane? BAH! Flair/Taker - AWFUL written all over it, see above. Edge/Regal - I can't see Regal getting out of this feud without dropping the title. But they should have ended it long ago. Also Regal's "commissioner" gimmick should be dropped, as it is already all-but-forgotten. APA/Mystery Champs - I have one thing to say. THE ENTIRE WWF TAG DIVISION FUCKING SUCKS. And yeah, there will probably be other sucky filler matches.... they've got to use 4 hours somehow...

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | No, it's perfect to have Hogan against the Rock. Don't you see? It's because both men epitomize Vince's bastard "Sports Entertainment!". Hogan was the sports entertainment icon for the 80s / early 90s, and the Rock is the s.e. icon of today. Rock is now what Hogan was, and Hogan is what Rock will become in a few years (it WILL happen, trust me). It's fitting that these two face each other at Wrestlemania. Do I think the match will suck? Sure, but I think Rock & Hogan is the better fit. If they keep the nWo around for any length of time, I imagine we'll see Hogan & Austin somewhere down the line. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Yeah, but they deemed this match as "the battle of the two greatest of all time" And that pisses me off... As for Mania, The only way to fix it is to make a better midcard. Put Edge & RVD in the ring, Booker T is suppossed to be a main eventer, but I guess now he is a solid midcarder. Why don't they use him?

I agree the tag division is a joke, and WTF is with all the geezers wrestling? WWF is the new WCW, i thought Hogan and Flair went to WCW to fucking die, now they're back, like goddam cancer. I can't wait till the WWF's decent wrestlers aren't injured, Benoit, Lynn, Rhyno (who i can stand to a degree), maybe i can catch them on HEAT once in a while or something, fuck the WWF, at least there's CZW.... O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | The more I thought about it, the more I'm thinking they are gonna throw Angle into the mix to make it a Triple Threat match. This way it's made to seem like HHH is facing insurmountable odds. Remember what I said in my original post: quote: I personally think this is a lame match, but at least it would be better than one-on-one HHH vs Jericho. Also, what do you all think about Nash possibly facing DDP for the European belt? I mean DDP was probably the main guy who hated the nWo more than anyone over in WCW so it would kinda make sense that he wants to join the fight against them. "What are you speaking, German Brian?" Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 02 | I dont think that they would put Nash vs DDP, he just doesnt really fit in the storylines. If they want this ppv to sell they hafta put Shawn Michaels against Kevin Nash. I know it seems like every match is a bunch of old guys who cant wrestle. But i know when i was a kid I was amazed with everything they did. Before the "RVD" days when everybody wrestled like Hogan and the Undertaker. It is the names and the things that they have done in the past that is gonna make u wanna watch this and enjoy it. This ppv is going to be like a big culmination of the biggest names in WWF History. I do also agree that they need to boost Booker T up but with all these guys around i dont see it happening. Also if they dont put Angle in a triple threat match for the title, maybe they could put him in a match against Van Dam and make a real good match, possibly the match of the night move for move. As far as the tag division goes ... it blows. If you want it to be good you hafta bring back the invasion guys that left. Make Raven and Tommy Dreamer a tag team, or bring back the Impact Player Justin Credible and Lance Storm. Booker T and Test are two great superstars but they just are a poor attempt to make up for a bad tag division. Billy and Chucky are good for making fun of Kane with, but not to be given the titles. Just have the Dudley Boyz come out and retire the Hardy Boyz and i will be happy.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | Steiner is with WWA now. That could change at any minute, but for now, he's with them. He's pretty much fit to wrestle, though. Sting....why would Sting come back? He's 40 now, and he's been pissed on in this business by promoters AND fans for the past 5 years or so. He owes us NOTHING, and I hope he stays the hell away from the WWF because, as a Sting fan, I know that they would just totally bury whatever is left of him. Better than Steve Borden stays out of the clutches of the REAL Great Satan, Vince McMahon. Think about it - why should Sting sign up with the promotion that now employees three of the guys who helped keep him down the past few years (Hogan, Hall, Nash) as well as other backstage politicians (or as Jim Ross likes to call them, "locker room leaders")? He's better of going to church every Sunday. Goldberg: Has no love for the industry. Never did, never will have it. He was never *that* talented to begin with, and was only in it for the money, which he got, so I guess he has the last laugh. But he also ended Bret Hart's career (only a bit prematurely, I know, but still) so for that I wish cancer upon his children. i thought Hogan and Flair went to WCW to fucking die, now they're back, like goddam cancer. I will accept you insulting Hogan (because it's fun!), but NEVER say that about Ric Flair, the greatest wrestler to ever walk this earth. "Being a bastard WORKS." --Spider Jerusalem

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 01 | You know how Goldberg used to do that backwards thrust kick? Well, he did it to Bret Hart, but because he's a total idiot, he didn't even look at Bret before he performed the move to see if Bret was protected from the blow (or even aware it was coming). He just kicked him, Bret wasn't expecting it (so he couldn't protect himself), and Hart wound up with a major concussion that forced him to retire. And so the career of one of the greatest wrestlers of the past two decades (IMO, at least) ends not with a bang but a whimper, all because some green idiot didn't have the IQ points to make sure he didn't hurt his opponent legit. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | scott stiener wrestled last night on wwa ppv. I read he agreed to do a one time appearence on wwa then go to wwf. He passed the wwf pyhsical. oh, and jerry lynn is in wwa now, for the person who mentioned him before. I expect poppa pump could debut anytime in the wwf. My freind suggested that booker t turn face to fight nash. Thier certainly history betwen the two. DDP should be used to fight big poppa pump IMO if he makes it to wwf by wm18. I'm thinking a wm18: 1.hhh-jericho/2.taker-flair/3.ddp vs poppa pump/4.edge - reagle - rvd/5.nash - booker t/6.hall - austin/7.rock -hogan/8.apa -billy&chuck/9.tag team rumble: hardys-dudleys-and who ever else is tagging this week/10.angle vs kane. All i know is that WM18 , expect for the matches would be a bit diffrent , IS WHAT LAST YEARS INVASTION PPV should have been. if WWF had these 5 big wcw names(,scott stiener, flair, hogan, hall, nash,in addition to ddp&booker), and thier big names (the then injured hhh & benoit, and movie maing rock, with austin & angle who were thier) for the invasion ppv, it would have been a more meaningful invasion ppv. Now we get it 8 mouths later.

They could have like test vs Rikishi and Nash against Big Show. Even a Val Venis vs Mr. Perfect match might be good.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | I'd like to have some of the midcard matches have actual meaning. Val Venis' gimmick is gay, but he is a good wrestler, so it would be fun to watch him fight Mr. Perfect or Test as long as that gay intro isn't on. Last year they made horrible matches like Test vs. Eddy Guererro which had no buildup. And Jericho vs. Regal was a joke. This year, they got RVd, Mr. Perfect, Val, Edge, Rikishi, Test, Booker T, Goldust and Regal. They better make use of those guys.
