| Well, congrats to Russo. This is either going to be REALLY good or REALLY bad for NWA, theres no in between with Russo's booking.
Vince Russo Joins NWA: TNA, More On Russo
Posted By Ashish on 07.09.02
-In what has become a very weird story, NWA: TNA has announced that Vince Russo, who was rehired just a short time ago by WWE, is now part of the NWA: TNA staff. Obviously this raises questions as to what is going on or went on between WWE and Russo. Russo was quickly demoted by WWE after being rehired, but was thought to still be under contract. Russo was backstage at the NWA: TNA show last week. The following message was posted on NWATNA.com:
VINCE RUSSO JOINS NWATNA
J Sports & Entertainment is happy to announce that Vince Russo has joined the NWATNA team.
J Sports & Entertainment CEO Jerry Jarrett said, “I am delighted to have Vince Russo as another addition to our support staff.â€

Actually Johnny Ace became head booker just weeks prior to the demise of WCW; prior to that, Ace, Terry Taylor & Ed Ferrara juggled the position after Russo stepped down from his duties due to post-concussion syndrome.

| This will not help the NWATNT.
Russo has come up with both good and bad ideas.
His main problem is that he cannot be an objective critic of his own ideas. He is very passionate about his own ideas ( which is good), but it often causes him to keep trying to push a bad angle long after he should have given up on it.
Without someone strong enough to edit his ideas he can do more harm than good. We saw some of that in his WCW tenure.
Sure, under Vince McMahon some bad angles came out of Russo. That said, alot of decent ones did too.

| This kind of scares me. Since NWA has been going damn strong in its three weeks thus far, with the fourth week looking great as well. So far, they're booking has been consistent and fairly well done. I'm not sure what kind of effect Russo will have.
Like it's already been said - this will either really help the NWA, or really hurt them.

Nobody could make WCW work. I don't buy that McMahon was his editor line. McMahon and Russo worked together and they had very good chemistry and were successful, that's it. If you buy the editor line, Jerry Jarrett knows what he's doing, in fact, McMahon would have put Jarrett in control of the WWF had he been convicted during his trail in 1994, that was the plan.

I hope you are kidding. You bash WWE for everything. Meanwhile NWA gets a free pass. I can think of things that sucked, like everything but the X division and Jeff Jarrett's promos. Things that are wrong, Buff Bagwell is on my television, Scott Hall is wrestling and not in rehab, nascar race drivers wrestling, country western singers, fat guys named Cheeks that weigh over 900 lbs, awful midget wrestling, dirty skanks (except francine of course), 2 horrible announcers (not including Tenay), and the Rainbow express who takes being gay to a whole new level. I love how Lenny calls his move the tigertamer (guess Liontamer is ised already).
But yet everything WWE does is awful You guys are fucking ridiculous. I am watching NWA because its free, I have nothing to do on wednesday evenings and I would like competition for the WWE to make it stronger. Hell, I'll admit, WWF was at it's peak when they were losing to Nitro.
