Hanger-On Registered: Jun. 01 | I know this has probably been discussed 100 times or so, but I did a search and it hasn't been on the discussion board in at least 3 months so I apologize if this is a bit repetitive to you longer posters, but I am just wondering and I am new. So again I apologize. I think the greatest match ever was probably the Undertaker/Mankind Hell In a Cell match in Pittsburgh? I think it is the best just for the amount of new ground broken in a single match and the way it raised the bar for future hardcore style matches. what do you think? So, unless you want a huge list by me, which i assume you don't (hopefully assume for time's sake), i dont know the answer. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. Barbed wire, tables, chairs, tacks, blood, more blood. That was great. THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ISOLATED .......Proud graduate of the Spitfire421 school of altered reality.......

My favorite foreign match was Jushin Lyger vs. Ultimo Dragon from the '95 J-Cup. Just a great technical match and fun to watch.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | quote: Granted, that was a great match. But it didn't set the standard for ladder matches, it enhanced it. HBK vs Razor Ramon ladder matches set the standard. That's what I mean by too many matches to choose from. Anyone could pick either one of these 2 matches, and forget about the other great stuff that happened in wrestling Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. Hanger-On Registered: Jun. 01 | Cluster I again am going to have to agree with you in saying that the HBK and Ramon ladder match set the standard especially being the first one in the WWF. Did you know that Bret Hart was originally slated to do that match against Ramon, but got out of it to help his brothers career from ending and that continued the HBK Hart animosity? Cluster I may need to go through your adoption agency when I am through with my tenure with DrunkenGW. Think about it you could be my new god. lol. That's when you know that society is running out of things to worship lol j/k :) I'm sure that Drunken GW is showing you the ropes of this board, so you'll be fine here. Also, I had no clue that Bret was supposed to be in that match. Just when I think I know everything lol. I'm kinda glad he wasn't in that match, even though Bret is great, because HBK is much more athletic. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. Sandman vs. Sabu-- Stairway to Hell (ladder match w/ barbed wire at the top of the ladder Anyone know if Sabu is still wrestling in the US? Hanger-On Registered: Jun. 01 | Undertaker/Mankind Hell In a Cell of 98' Was a Good Match, but It WASnt THE BEST! But thats your opinion. The only reason why that match WAS Good. Because Of one of the Greatest CrazY SOB in Pro Wrestling Mick Foley! You wouldnt see Undertaker do anything like that. The First Hell In the Cell Was better than the Second. With Shawn Vs. Taker! Anyways, There has been GREAT matches in the WWF. Even Hogan had a few good ones! BUT the Greatest Match of ALL TIME was WrestleMania 12 with Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Micheals. Both men Held their side of the Match. Which made both men go the whole hour without losing the Crowd! Most matches, you have one guy leading the match. Making the match great. But at WM 12, Both men went the distance! RICH

Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 01 | My favorite match of all time would have to be Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart at Wrestlemania I loved the way they battled over the sharpshooter and the way the WWF developed that feud was classic in my opinion. It's unheard of to have such a good match that early in the card.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | quote: rblovesmc...This is the point I'm trying to make. There is no way that one match can be the best of all time, because then you would be doing matches like Steamboat vs. Flair, which lasted 60-90 minutes an injustice. Length of the match does not determine whether it was great or not. Hell, Hogan vs. Warrior was a great spectacle, but the match sucked. I'm not "dissing" your taste of matches, I'm just making a point that it is near impossible to pick a favorite match of ALL TIME Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. Hanger-On Registered: Jun. 01 | (Cluster F), I respect what you have to say about Greatest Matches. But Son, you have to Agree that Most matches Are Held by one person. For example. Steve Austin. That Guy can amuse the crowd, But wrestling he SUCKS! AT WM 14, Micheals not only pass the torch to Austin but he carried that match. If you watched every Match Austin had after Wrestlemania 14. He was in either a Thriple threat, NO DQ, Anything Goes, etc etc etc. That MAN cant go ONE On ONE and have a good wrestle match!Wait Sorry, He went one on one with Spike on smackdown, and kicked his ass! Basicly Austin cant go ONE on ONE with the big boys only Jobbers! Now Austin is a great guy. DOnt take my WISE ASS Remarks as if I hate the guy, I dont. BUT THE MAN SUCKS!! My point with Hart & Micheals. Both Men in their career gave 110% and when they came together in that match. It made it to be a Match to Remember! That was my point at of that match and wrestleMania. Some men have the touch of wrestling and some just act. LIKE AUSTIN,Hogan,Warrior, and the list goes on..

Psychopath Registered: Apr. 01 | Some great matches were mentioned guys, So I'll try not to repeat. I loved Machoman vs. Steamboat WM3, and Hogan vs. Warrior WM6 was good for its time. Besides that, and even though they were said, id probably have to go with HBK vs Hitman Ironman, HBK vs Ramone Ladder, all the Hell in Cells except the gay one with Bossman, All TLC's, and there was this ECW match I saw on tape, but i dont know too much about it. It was Taz and Tajiri I think, where Taz put barbed wire around his hand and shoved into Tajiri's mouth. Pretty cool. Thanks for the sig pic Sephiroth. "Gimmy the bat, faggit" "I AM ZEROMUS. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | quote: Dude, that is just ignorant. Sure, Austin at this point isn't as great as some other guys in the ring, but he hardly sucks. His match against The Rock at Wrestlemania, his match at NWO against HHH, his RAW match against Angle earlier this year, and his recent matches against Benoit were all damn good. And I don't think any of these guys qualify as jobbers. quote: Austin has probably had hundreds of matches better than the best Hogan or Warrior match. Think before you show your ass. Anyway, my thoughts on the best matches (I'll keep this American): My favorite WWF match ever is Hart vs. Hart from WM X. Everything about it was so damn great, and the storyline tied in perfectly with the match itself. I thought the Michaels/Ramon ladder match was almost, but not quite, as good as this. I think the Michaels/Hart ironman match is very overrated. Sure, it was good, but it dragged a bit at times, and the overtime was very rushed. I actually prefer the Rocky/HHH ironman match over this, because the multiple falls added to the overall excitement of the match. And when you're going 60 minutes, you need all the excitement you can get. Other good stuff: The whole Flair/Steamboat series. It really doesn't get any better than this. Austin/Hart Survior Series 96 and WM XII. I think the SS match was better, but it didn't have the same historical impact as the Wrestlemania match. Steamboat/Savage WM III Misterio/Guerrero Halloween Havoc 97 Benoit/Bret Hart Nitro (Owen Tribute) Raven and Richards/Pitbulls Double Dog Collar Match My favorite ECW match. Benoit/Regal Pillman 2000 No sig yet.
