| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | I don't know about anyone else, but I think these Laurel & Hardy cut-scenes that they're doing lately are goddamn hilarious. Theres more to Austin than just "DTA" and "3:16", and it shows. Angle makes the perfect dumbass sidekick, and whoever came up with this storyline gets a handshake from me. I didn get a chance to watch Smackdown, but Raw was very funny. The whole "Bugs-Daffy" thing is hilarious. Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all. The only problem I have is, why isn't Regal wrestlng?? Hell, he's the best wrestler they have who isn't injured, he should be tearing it up!! Tajiri + Regal should = Tag Champs!!! [pissed off] LISTEN, VINCE (If you can take your hand off your dick for a minute...), Tajiri can wake the crowd up with a single kick, while Regal gives a good, stiff, old-school beatdown like nobody else does. Put their asses in the ring against your big boys, against WCW, whatever. They rule, plain and simple. Billy Gunn, X-Pac, Big Show, and Buff don't. [/pissed off] But the Kidman/Helms match was good...INDIAN GIVER | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Sep. 00 | People just don't ever want to be happy. It is the fans nature to critcize everything. People shit on the Rock on this board cause his promo work is so stale. They try and fault his ringwork (which isn't special), but when the Rock was spitting out hot promos that seemed fresh, everyone ate from his hand. Its such a key to getting a character over. Now you got two guys giving you something completely different that is very entertaining ,and people are asking for the old badass Austin again. On the other hand, if he were still drinking beers every second and crafting every promo around the "thats the bottom line..." shit, people would be bashing Austin just like the Rock. WWF is not always super tough guy #1 vs. super tough guy #2. This is as funny as it gets. Enjoy it hammers. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Hey whackbag, I was bashing the crock since the minute I saw him at the survivor series a few years back...I thought he sucked then, and still does. I won't knock anyone for getting in to him, or any of the other average workers who know how to handle the stick...but give me a hard working busting his ass wrestler any day of the week...I would much rather see lance storm or chris benoit than the rock any day!! And I don't think people are really complaining about the new look scsa, they are just saying that they can't figure out how the huggy bear is fitting in with the story...it is humorous, but still needs to play out so we can see where it is going... As for the hugs, When ever one of them feels that someone is trying to kiss Vince's ass and get on his good side they give him a hug. They are insecure and want to make sure they are Vinces' favorite. Thats what made the whole gift giving soo funny last week. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | First of all, if I see Austin vs. McMahon one more time I'm going to start punching people. That whole thing is so played out they have nothing left to do. I still don't know why the Rock gets constantly bashed on here. It's like people just try to prove they are "smart" and bash him because he's not a really great worker like a Mick Foley or a Chris Benoit. I have news for you, not many people are. But he's also not Hulk Hogan either in that regard. He is still a pretty good wrestler though and the key thing is that he's OVER. That's all that matters. You can be the best worker in the world but if you aren't over then it doesn't mean a damn thing. Dean Malenko is a perfect example of this. The guy is amazing but he can't talk for his life and thusthen he isn't over with the fans. Throw in the Rock's name and face recognition and the WWF has someone to help sell their product. And that's the most important thing. So just live with it and stop being so damn cynical all of the time. Lastly, getting this thread back on topic, I am going to miss the Austin/Angle stuff since it's obvious it's going to be a different Austin when he comes back. It's like the Seinfeld of wrestling angles, extremely funny and going out on top. ------------------- But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done. | Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | AMEN, Officer Joe. AMEN. I've been turned off by the Rock as of late, but that is mainly due to the fact he, in my opinion, got stale and wasn't as funny anymore. But, there is no denying that he is as big a name in this industry as anyone else, INCLUDING SCSA and Hogan, and we can't lose track of that, nor can we lose track of the fact he tries harder than aANYONE who's gotten at his level, save for Austin and, maybe (if you'd say he's on his level)HHH. The Goldbergs, Hogans, Savages, even the Stings, all got lazy or lost their passion for the business, or both, once they got to a certain level. This even goes for guys who have clearly NOT been at Rock's level of popularity or at least TOP of promotion status.(Nash, Taker, others who have been great #2 guys, if you will). I'd say Flair and Austin are the only ones to be the MAN, like Rock, and had a better complete package consistently, and not by much! And, I, for one, can't wait for him to come back and hopefully, he'll be re-energized and less stale. I think this time off will end up being the best thing for his character. They need a bigger heel now, WCW is the only heel, and now theres friendsship in the WWF i think a new Corporation would be good, instead of the Rock though, it would be, Bossman, Austin, Angle, and maybe someone else.
