| What do you make of the crowd cheering for Angle in the Booker-T match and Ross mentioning it. I'm not sure what the WWF is trying to do. On one hand, Vince-Austin-Angle are a team of heels but on the other hand they're representing the WWF against the WCW/ECW invasion. It's interesting because the fans don't know who to cheer for. Personally, I thought it was great when Heyman organized his ECW stable but that was quickly ruined when they alligned themselves with WCW/Shane. Steph did look hot in that dress though.

| I think the WWF realized that the only way to get WCW off the ground was as heels, since the WWF was sorely lacking them with HHH out. But, since the WCW was getting almost no reaction, the genius that is Paul E came up with an idea that no one would have believed Vinny Mac would go for unless they saw it for themselves.
I guess Vinny went for it based on Paul's track record for doing alot with a little bit of talent. And Stephanie becoming owner is probably just to get her back on TV and avoid Paul E getting sued by all the people he still owes money to from the end of the real ECW. Regardless...it is great to see Dreamer & RVD on TV, and guys like Taz and Justin get their edge back.
I was such a mark last night, I was jumping out of my seat like a 6th grader watching Hulk Hogan circa 1985.
By the way...what's up in Corporate America, bro?

| Paul isn't the one who came up with ECW's addition into the Invasion angle Vince did himself. At leasts that's what The Ross Report (by Jim Ross) said. |

| First off, Domi IS right, it's been widely reported that people have been giving Heyman credit backstage for the ECW angle, but he himself has told people Vince came up with it.
Second off, I think it became clear after Smackdown that everyone in the WCW/ECW is heel and everyone in the WWF is face. That Booker T/ Angle match was sort of a double-turn, as through cheating and having the ref in his pocket, Booker clearly turned heel, and by being the victim Angle turned sympathetic babyface. Vince will likely turn full-fledged face soon, it wouldn't surprised me if Linda is upset with what Shane and Steph said on Thursday about waiting for her to die, demands an apology, gets her ass kicked by Shane and Steph (can Linda sell?) and Vince makes the save and they live happily ever after. As for Austin, well, if the OLD Steve DOES come back, you know HE will be a face.

| I am rooting for ECW because I have an old ECF'NW shirt and it will be cool to wear it again.

| Although Heyman may have come up with a few things since he joined the WWF you all have to remember nothing gets put on TV unless Vince approves of it first.

| This is the way it should have been to start with. WWF should be the faces because they are the ones actually getting invaded. This is the only way that WCW/ECW angle would have worked. Im not sure how AUstin and Vince can both be faces if Austin returns to badass mode. Personally, i want Austin to stay the way he is now, and be able to whip ass for Vince and Kurt.
Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all.
I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum. :) |

| When I wrote that Heyman reorganized his ECW stable I was "speaking" in storyline terms. I didn't mean to imply that Heyman was behind the angle.
Smackdown certainly answered my original question - Vince wants us to root for all of the WWF wrestlers (including the heels)as they fend off the WCW/ECW.

Well, actually JerseyTerp, Domi and I were talking to spe5150, but it's always good to defend yourself!
Smackdown! definitely cleared things up and this angle is making for interesting TV, can't wait for Raw in a couple hours!

| Here's a good one, who does everyone root for in the X-Pac vs Kidman match? Just about 99% of wrestling fans hate X-Pac, but the WWF is supposed to be the "face" fighting off the invasion of the "heel" WCW-ECW combination.
That's gonna be an interesting crowd reaction to that one.

Good point, but remember, the PPV is in Cleveland, the same town where the TOOLS cheered for Bagwell. Once a tool, always a tool...or something.

| Kidman is one who I think will start winning, and be given a huge push, because he is one of the hardest workers in all of wrestling (for his size of course)
And he deserves it.
Any bets on if X-fuck tries to powerbomb him? because you know the #1 rule of wrestling,
DONT TRY TO POWERBOMB KIDMAN.
Nothing to see here - move along. And by the way, OJ did it.

| Hey, if they're trying to set the WWF as the underdog (or at least the besieged...) come Sunday, why aren't they hitting "And we have to fight w/o three of our top guys: HHH, Benoit, and the Rock." ?
Is it just to keep them out of people's minds?

By God, man, you've got it!!!
Hell, if they don't know what trademarks they can use today, why should they plan plotlines?

Providence, ~10PM: a guy in a suit runs out to the ring area, and whispers in Paul Heyman's ear. "Quick guys! Take off all those ECW t-shirts. We're not allowed to wear them anymore. Cut that Tazz intro!! Meet Stephanie McMahon: new owner of XCW!"

Improv Wrestling!
They sure as hell better not be doing that. Improv booking is what led to WCW's downfall as Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo proved without a shadow of a doubt they had no clue how to run a wrestling organization. Neither one of these guys had an original idea, except maybe for the nWo, but that was run into the ground so many times it wasn't even funny.
Learn from their errors Vince. Do not resort to improv booking or else your organization will truly be facing it's greatest challenge and that's going out of business.
