| I was recently thinking about how much wrestling changed from the 80's to the 90's and even noticed a huge difference in wrestling today as compared to 5 years ago.
Do you realize that back then wrestling was pretty much dominated by stables or factions? Today if you see 1 or 2 it's a lot.
Here is a list of some that I can remember. There are probably a few I forgot so feel free to add them.
- Degeneration X
- the nWo
- the 4 Horsemen
- The Flock
- The Nation of Domination
- Disciples of Apocolypse
- The Corporation
- The Ministry of Darkness
- the Hart Foundation
- Los Boriquas
- the Radicalz
- the Triple Threat
- the Union (I know, they lasted all of a week maybe)
- the Revolution
- Kaientai
- the Oddities
Pretty much wrestling was nothing more than gang warfare 5 years ago. My, how things have changed.

| It is totally different now, and it will never be the same either. Anyone remember what the union stood for? I cant.
Nothing to see here - move along. And by the way, OJ did it.

| Pretty much the Union was just formed to take on the Corporation and that's when Test asked Stephanie out for the first time. Like I said, this faction didn't last long at all as Shamrock soon disappeared and the Big Show turned heel for the millionth time.

| I remember that night Flock, that was kinda good, who woulda thunk that Steph would change so much. And flkjsaghouvgnw is right, the union was an anagram, but what it was I have no idea.
I loved the LWO, that rocked.

| but the point of this whole thread is to compare how factions and stables dominated not too long ago and now there are not as many..tag teams arent the same as factions, you missed the whole point of his topic.

| I did like the corporation. It was good to see the team ass kickings, that is what was great about the NWO, during most matches, you knew that whatever happened, it was gonna end in an ass whooping.

| My favorite faction was the Nation of Domination. Most racist, most sterotypical faction ever. Rock was at his best as a heel, Faaroq, Ahmed Johnson, and Mark Henry speaking in ebonics. Just classic stuff.

| My favorite faction back then had to be the Hart Foundation with Bret as the "monarch" of the group in his little wheelchair. Having Bret give out orders and Owen and the rest of them follow out with them was great. Bret really was good at starting that whole U.S vs. Canada rivalry, and every guy had their own purpose for the team.
However, part of the reason WCW failed is because they used these factions 5 years too late. Team Canada and MIA just dont work now like they used to.
Yea i be taking that zoloff, but thaz jus keepin me from killin y'all.
I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum. :) |

| Thanks Cluster F. I completely forgot about Team Canada and M.I.A.
Guess it was because WCW sucked so bad towards the end, it really wasn't worth paying attention to.

| Yeah, the Union also had the worst anagram ever in wrestling. It was something like "Union - people - you oughta respect " UP YOURS SHANE. Definately not one of Mick's finest.
-------------------
But there's also this: there are over 5,000 men in this city, who know that being a policeman is an endless, glamourless, thankless job that's gotta be done.
I know it, too, and I'm damn glad to be one of them."
