| Psychopath Registered: May. 01  | A friend of mine im'd me last night during Smackdown and he insisted that this Invasion angle is starting to look a hell of a lot like the N.W.O. angle of 1997. I keep telling him it won't go down like that did because most of the N.W.O. guys had a thing called "creative control" in their contracts and that's what fucked up the whole thing. Now we only have a couple guys that might have that clause (if Vince allowed it) and they're not even heavily involved in the angle. This is bigger than the N.W.O. angle ever was and I'm sure Vinnie Mac isn't going to let it turn into a circus like that did. Any thoughts? E.C.W.! E.C.W.! E.C.W.! E.C.W.! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Yes it is an invasion angle ala NWO, but NO, Vince has 1001% control over what happens. Perfect example is Bagwell. He tried to do things his way and f'd with Vince and he got his ass fired. I would say only Rock, Austin, HHH and Undertaker have Vince's ear and that is it. No matter what you say good or bad about those 4, they are all good for the business and they all work their asses off unlike most of the wrestlers from WCW. No one in WCW or ECW will do anything to fuck up what Vince is doing with the Invasion Angle. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Comparing this to the NWO...I have thought about it...but really I do not think this will end up getting screwed up like that did because the guys involved now are more into staying in the business. With no other real national option for wrestlers, unless they want to go to Japan, they will behave themselves or find themselves out the door! Now, is it ok of me to ask Mr. McMahon to bring in Scott Hall? Bring him back and make him part of this...sure he has had problems but can still cut a promo and does put on some decent matches.
