Wilkes County Coroner Howard Laney said the two boys were mimicking wrestling moves they had seen on television when Crabb flipped Garland over his back and to the floor, causing Garland to bump his head and suffer a broken neck.

EMS workers responded quickly and worked on Garland at the scene and hospital. He was never revived. An X-ray showed he died from a broken neck.

The relationship between the two boys isn’t very clear, according to investigators. They are lead to believe the two are stepbrothers.

The death has been classified as accidental for now, but the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

Garland’s body has been taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC for an autopsy

Why is this wrestling related? Shouldn't it be Martial Arts related? Another thing to blamed on wrestling. When a person gets killed doing a suplex or a DDT call me. These are moves that should be blamed on wrestling, not body slams, elbows and flips. FUCKING STUPID PEOPLE.

I agree Doug...These people really are retarted..I actually saw backyard wrestling on public access channel last night and could not believe these morons..Die get in the coffin

I remember being a kid wrestling with my friends...legdrops, elbow drops, a clothesline or two, maybe an atomic drop...I think the most dangerous thing I'd do would be Randy Savage's flying axehandle, or maybe the figure four leglock (Ric Flair is the MAN!)...

Kids today are, quite simply, morons...it's not like the old days where wrestlers wouldn't get hurt as much ...wrestlers are going down left and right...it's stupid for these kids to imitate moves that the wrestlers themselves tell them not to! It's common sense missing, and bad parenting that we have to suffer for...

[rant]YES!!! My point exactly. There was a thread maybe 3 or 4 months ago regarding the Lionel Tate case and at that point the subject of bad parenting was brought up. If the parents were more involved with their children and kept a better keep on what they are interested in and explain that the stuff is choreographed then maybe the little morons wouldn't do shit like that.[/rant]

listen, if some 16 year old dipshit doesnt have enough common sense to know how to play around with a 9 year old, then he has no one to blame but himself.
