Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 | Since the advent of the music video, the appearance/image of a Band and or Performer has become more and more important so as to become almost as important as the level of musical ability of that performer. This trend was troubling at first, but I fear that now we have turned a corner. With the advent of Antares research's Autotune software, and the subsequent release of the ATR1 intonation processor, the ability to sing on key is no longer required of a performer. I naively thought at first, when I heard of this technology, that some sense of conscience would keep "musicians" from using it on recordings. I was sorely mistaken however. Over the past 2 years, I have noticed this processor / software in use (and you have to listen very carefully sometimes) more and more to the point where it is now pervasive. Has anyone else been sickened by this over reliance on "fake talent" lately? | ||||
