O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | I also saw it and thought it was great. The acting is amazing all around and once again, Williams is surprising this year (like in Death to Smoochy) but this is a far better film. The plot is more complex and intricate than the commercials have you believe and Nolan works the Alaskan atmosphere excellently. It's a more than welcome alternative to the big budget actioners of this summer. And Swank was actually kind of attractive in it. "It appears my wee wee has been strucken with rigor mortis."

Psychopath Registered: Jan. 02 | Alot of people tend to forget that Robin Williams is a DAMN good actor....It's mostly his fault though, it's not like he has to take a role because of money...I really wish he would do more serious stuff, Dead Poets Society is one of my all-time favorite movies, and he is brilliant in it....Oh, and he kicks ass in this movie, Pacino does an amazing job(as always), and eventhough I can't stand Hillary Swank, I think she played her part well in the movie.,..Too bad this will get buried under all the summer blockbusters, but I think it will become a hit once it's out on video Trust Me!

O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I saw it last weekend and i thought it was very good. But predictable. Both Williams and Pacino were excellent. Some of the problems i had with the movie: 1. Why didn't pacino just move the bed away from the window so he could sleep? He had plenty of fucking room to do so. 2. The chase scene across the logs. While Pacino is chasing Williams you see him jump over the gaps. When he falls and is under the water all the fucking gaps are gone. Then he turns and see's the ladder!!! All he had to do was swim a few feet. 3. Oh yeah everyone knew he shot his fucking partner. The ebtire thearter turned to each other and said that aint Robin Willaims he just shot!

And his job in Dead Poets Society and even Good Morning Vietnam are two very well done dramatic roles. A heavy dose of reality, with a shot of piss and vinegar I love the kindredbabe, the MamaCaz, the SyKoPaThCHiK, and especially the RF and my little walking Disaster Area!!!!

Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | i think im the only person to think this movie is just good as opposed to great. Williams playing a bad guy was interesting, but if you have ever seen The Fisher King, Good Will Hunting, Dead Poets Society, etc. you will know that he is no surprise as a dramatic actor. i admit i really liked the pace, dialogue, and overall cinematography, but i knew where it was going the whole time. for a film to truly be great i think it should throw a few surprises your way as well, not just get you where you expect, albeit stylishly...

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I saw it this past friday, and i must say, I LOVED IT! What a good movie. The whole theater (200 people) were into the movie the whole time. Al Pacino was great as usual, and Robin Williams...damn hes a good killer. He almost made Pacino seem like the bad guy at times, and the way that his character was written was good too, having the "bad guy" associate with the "good guy". One of the best parts of the movie had to be when Robin Williams pulled out the Wild Card (tape recorder) after he got off the boat with Al. Id recommend it to everyone, and ill probably end up seeing it again. Thanks to Austin for the pic 1. 94 Wins and NL East Title by the Mets this year 2. Hate the Braves with a passion 3. Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 02 | Insomnia was that good. I did'nt expect mutch from it going in (with the average sales its done), but i left the theater seeing the best thriller iv'e seen in a long time. Williams pulled off an awkward - yet frighting character in his interpretation of a killer. What made him so scary is that his character was unpredictable, and very inteligent madman. And Pacino made a great scorned hero. The location and timing of the story really added to the suspence, the constant light would take an effect on anyone and with being so out there away from civilization adds to urgency of the plot. Shit Hillary Swank looked good in this one, all unconscious on the cabin floor... she should be unconscious more often then her other movies would'nt be filled with her annoying drama style.

Psychopath Registered: Mar. 02 | The hotel woman was the mother from Liar liar. I think she was also on Newsradio. Maura Tierney. I thought the movie was lacking. Usually in a movie where you know who the killer is from the begining, the plot is about trying to connect the dots. They left alot unexplained. Where did he take her to clean her? I thought that they should have twisted the story, and made Williams "Unguilty". I'm kind of tired of movies with a million plot twists for no reason other than to have a twist, but I feel this one could have benefited. Also, the whole "I'm such a fan of your work" thing is getting old in movies. I thought the movie was decent, probably a better rent movie. Also, did it remind anybody of Seven?
