| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Metallica is past their prime and should have hung it up a while ago. Or at least gave some consideration to the shit they threw at us for the past 10 years. I gave up after the "Black" albumn, although some later tunes were OK. Now that Newstead is gone, FUCK 'EM! Only time will tell, but I see them ending up like some of the bands O&A were talking about. Journey, The Who, AC/DC, Skynyrd, with their always changing line-ups. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | As far as I'm concerned, Metallica died after the "Black Album". I know it's been played to death, but there are some decent tunes on that disc - but it definitely is the start of a severe downward-turn for that band. I have not heard any post-BA music from them other than what I have heard on the radio or at a friend's place, and none of it made me say "let me get the new album". Cliff must be turning in his grave now...  You can reach me through AIM or email. I really don't give a fuck as to which one you use.

How the fuck does a band go from Master Of Puppets and Creeping Death to Until It Sleeps and The Memory Remains? I had a little bit of hope left after Load. I thought that maybe they would see some of the backlash coming from it and wisen up with their next album. What did they give us? Reload. Fuck them. | ||||

Radio 104 out of Hartford played 18 hours of old school Metallica yesterday in protest. This morning I was listening and the midday DJ said that Lars called last night, after the word was spread to his management. It was great yesterday, I'd go to 104.1 between R&F commercials and hear Creeping Death and Damage Inc. and stuff from that era.
