| Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 01 | For the most part, yes. When you install the Napster client, it does a search of your local drives and locates any files with the extension .mp3. It then shares all directories with Mp3 files. You can go to Prefrences & unshare selected or all shared directories. You must however, be logged on to a napster server in order for your songs to be available to other users. It is after all peer to peer FTP with a point & click interface. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the original question was how to get a song that he has on Napster. for example, if he/she has a version of a song on a cd and wants that version to be accessable to Napster's users, how does he/she go about getting it into Napster's database.  | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | Ok ..Ok...If you are correct WS..FIrst you have to have the software to rip a song from a Cd...I use MusicMatch ..It came with My Dell....its easy to record and then when Napster scans your Hard drive it will be available to Other Napsters users | ||||
