Best New Bands I heard: --Injected (coming in Sept.) --local band Something Leftover After Misfortune (SLAM)--should definitely make it! Biggest Disappointments: (unfortunately, there were a lot) --Jerry Cantrell breaking his arm a day before the show so he couldn't play, but his replacement was good --Days of the New bailing at the last minute --Scheduling Conflicts on Friday- Bob Dylan, Blues Traveler, and Black Crowes all on w/in 10 minutes of eeach other --Being so drunk I badly sprained my ankle Friday...I was a trooper though I just couldn't dance around a lot Best Performances: (but EVERYONE sounded awesome) --Train, got to the front of the stage in my condition and WOW'ed the lead singer and audience (got on the screen) --BEN HARPER- the entire place was blazing for him...one of the only musicians who can sit down during a set and completely entertain you anyway with his energy --The Cult just rocked --Arrested Dev't were totally chill --Tantric, amazing despite mike probs Biggest Surprises: --Jerry Cantrell's band played only one solo song, the rest was all Alice in Chains, and Layne was hardly missed, actually (the guitarist only had one day to practice the set) --For $5 you could get really buzzed off a daiquiri made up juice, grain alcohol and vodka!! (and decent food prices too--not what we're accustomed to here LOL) no-one ever tends to me. Sitting alone covered in breeze. Some things are so my mind can breathe.
