O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | quote: That's cause you aren't a mod there. Here's the story... THE BLACK CROWES & OASIS CONFIRM CO-HEADLINING PERFORMANCES; 'THE TOUR OF BROTHERLY LOVE' TO KICK OFF MAY 11 THE BLACK CROWES and OASIS have confirmed dates for what is certain to be the definitive rock experience of 2001: a co-headlining American tour that unites two bands who exemplify the best of live American and British rock; who've earned vast critical acclaim; and who are fronted by siblings: CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON (THE BLACK CROWES) and LIAM and NOEL GALLAGHER (OASIS). The 17-city "The Tour Of Brotherly Love" kicks off May 11 in Las Vegas, hits Los Angeles' Greek Theatre May 14 and wraps up at New York City's Radio City Music Hall June 7. The shows will feature an opening act (TBA) to be followed by OASIS, with THE BLACK CROWES closing the show. THE BLACK CROWES and OASIS are expected to perform full sets. Says Pete Angelus, manager for THE BLACK CROWES: "The history, credibility, resilience, talent, passion and music of both bands speak for itself. God help us all." Says Marcus Russell, manager for OASIS: "The idea of these two great bands touring together has excited everyone we speak to. It's the ideal combination for those who take their rock charged with passion, soul and energy." THE BLACK CROWES will release their V2 Records debut CD LIONS May 8. OASIS released the double live CD FAMILIAR TO MILLIONS in November. The "Tour of Brotherly Love" will hit 17 cities, and include full sets by both artists. Over the past decade, THE BLACK CROWES have consistently delivered high-voltage rock & roll soul, cementing their reputation as one of rock's premiere bands, starting with 1990's multi-platinum selling debut Shake Your Money Maker, straight through 1999's By Your Side and 2000's Greatest Hits 1990-1999: A Tribute To A Work In Progress, and on to this past summer's gold-certified, critically acclaimed collaboration Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes: Live At The Greek. THE BLACK CROWES' mix of hard blues, heavy riff rock and inward-looking, often deeply personal lyrics clearly represent contemporary rock & roll's best: it's a distinctive sound with a sense of abandon, celebratory heat and confrontational attitude. No wonder that the U.K.'s Melody Maker hailed them as "The Most Rock n' Roll Rock n' Roll Band in the World." OASIS belong to a tradition of acts in the history of music who get to define their generation. To know that right then, at that moment, no one is making music that is more important, that expresses more clearly the hopes and aspirations of the time. From the release of Definitely Maybe in 1994 to the massive concerts at Knebworth in 1996, Oasis were indisputably that act. Since then they've continued to tour the world, written 2000's Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and remained the indisputable world champions of rock 'n roll. Tour dates are as follows: DATE CITY VENUE 05/11/01 Las Vegas, NV The Joint 05/12/01 Santa Barbara, CA Santa Barbara Bowl 05/14/01 Los Angeles, CA The Greek Theater 05/17/01 Denver, CO Fiddler's Green 05/19/01 St. Paul, MN Xcal Energy Center 05/20/01 Chicago, IL New World Music Theater 05/22/01 Cincinnati, OH Riverbend Music Theater 05/23/01 Cleveland, OH Blossom Music Center 05/25/01 Toronto, ON Molson Amphitheater 05/27/01 Boston, MA Tweeter Center 05/30/01 Philadelphia, PA Blockbuster 06/01/01 Indianapolis, IN Verizon Wireless Music 06/02/01 Detroit, MI Pine Knob Music Theater 06/03/01 Darien Center, NY Darien Lake P.A.C. 06/05/01 Baltimore, MD Merriweather Post Pavilion 06/07/01 New York, NY Radio City Music Hall February 21, 2001 Tour Dates Hello Amoricans! I've been reading your emails as well as working your suggestions from the message board, and I hope that you will enjoy the changes in the weeks ahead. An idea that was recently suggested to me was to bring back the photo montages that used to be a part of the Transparent Journals. If you would like to share photo's of TBC shows or your related travels, I will setup a section to display them. Also, if you have an interest in being part of a permanent TBC tape tree, I'd like to hear your thoughts and suggestions. I've had a few requests to do this and depending upon your response, we can make a game plan, organize and get this going. Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | Now don't get me wrong here because I like The Black Crowes. But I can't see that Oasis would open bearing in mind that they're a bigger better band. And I don't think they'll play anyway since Noel has already said that he will not tour abroad anymore. Black Crowes = good Oasis = more gooder Black Crowes + Oasis = Fucking cool

O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | My problem is that they're co-headlining, so you have to go watch full sets of both... Guv, I don't know how popular Oasis is in England, but here, people just think of them as a joke because of their feuds...the last time I heard a song of theirs anywhere except on "Behind the Music" was from their 1st album... Black Crowes are definitely going to go on last. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Oasis is super-huge in the UK/Europe . The only pompous one is Liam. Noel is very cool, and down to earth. The Black Crowes will definitely be going on stage last. I've seen many Crowe shows at the Beacon , and it's balls to the wall hold nothing back jammin', with every show paying tribute to the sweetleaf. As a matter of fact, go there dry, it won't matter ;) . Oasis may be cheesy to many, but they're bearable or else The Robinson's wouldn't be sharing a bill with them. Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Here is a little tip on getting great seats for any show : If you're willing to miss the opening song, which isn't the end of the world, you'll be able to get prime seats from the panicky-scalpers because they're nervous/desperate with a stack in the hand. By the beginning of the show, all/most have purchased tickets. I've seen the Crowes 4 times 5th row, or better...all while missing most, if not all of the first song. sf421 , please give me the link to those cool smiles, especially stonersmile....;) Jeder oder Keiner, Alles oder Nichts

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | First, thanks SF421 ! it's up to you. if you get lucky with a particular scalper go for it ! but i've gotten the best tickets at face, or $5-10 over with waiting out that 1st song. It's rare for me to attend a show with ticket in hand. I'll be using this strategy for Jeff Beck at Roseland this month. Jeder oder Keiner, Alles oder Nichts
