Are you left with a bitter taste in your mouth because of how Lars brought upon the bands end and the whole Napster fiasco? Or are you a diehard fan who was a fan at the beginning, was a fan throughout, and will continue to be a fan because of their musical ingenious and not their demise?

i will always like metallica, except for their newer stuff. i much prefer their older stuff.. even though lars turned into a prick, i still love most of their music and will always listen to music that I like.

Back ithe day, few bands could touch Metallica's musicianship and ass-kicking, hard touring ways. Nowadays, after let-downs like "Load" and "I Disappear", Metallica has lost it, and it wasn't until Lars became a jerk-off that EVEYONE realized they lost it.

"Master Of Puppets" was Godly.

My fav.

-Creeping Death-

Slaves
Hebrews born to serve, to the pharaoh
Heed
To his every word, live in fear
Faith
Of the unknown one, the deliverer
Wait
Something must be done, four hundred years

So let it be written
So let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

Now
Let my people go, land of goshen
Go
I will be with thee, bush of fire
Blood
Running red and strong, down the nil
Plague
Darkness three days long, hail to fire

So let it be written
So let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

Die by my hand
I creep across the land
Killing first born man
Die by my hand
I creep across the land
Killing first born man

I
Rule the midnight air the destroyer
Born
I shall soon be there, deadly mass
I
Creep the steps and flood final darkness
Blood
Lambs blood painted door, I shall pass

So let it be written
So let it be done
I'm sent here by the chosen one
So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

I thought Load was a decent album compared to Reload. But compared to their stuff in the 80s it is just a completely different band.

Exactly. Load was something different compared to what we were used to. I know I sorta sound like the one Regan bit "This is not what I'm used to" but it's true in Metallica's case. They took a turn for the worse.

Back in '85 I went to see W.A.S.P. at L'amour...
Got the treat of my life...
Opening for them were two bands I hadn't had the pleasure of hearing before,Armored Saint...And METALLICA.
I was blown away!
Lars STILL SUCKS though.

Lars is a donkey raping cocksmoking homo sexual...

I love all of metallicas music, they have taken a turn, not for the better, and i think they finally have sold out, but thats not gonna stop me form likeing their music. They have been big influences on my guitar playing. I would much rather theyre style to have stayed basically the same, but i dislike very few of their new Shit, im totally looking foward to a new album and hopefully another tour.

I was upset when Load came out. They had fired their
long-time manager and were taking a different turn.
Granted, their music did NOT suck, but it definitely
became more single- and radio-friendly. And when
Lars started his whole Napster crusade, well.... Did he
not see that Metallica's fanbase was comprised largely
of people who hated the mainstream? Did he not see
that a LOT of their fans (not all, of course, but a large
percentage) were of the rebellious mind and were
anti-corporate? I am an intelligent male and I try not
to simply make assumptions based on limited
knowledge, but couldn't Lars see that he was
indirectly, if not directly supporting Record Labels with
his actions? And as we all know, record labels are
notorious for fucking the living shit out of artists.
Although I do not like her music, the coolest and
smartest artist out there is Ani DiFranco. She built her
own record label, which I have read is the largest
independant record label in the country (or most
successful, anyway), and gives the bands she signs
sweet deals. She is a smart businesswoman and she
treats her fans and her acts very well. Lars Ulbitch
should have taken a page from her book.

little newbie since 5-31-01
