| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01  | Sometimes something interesting happens at a concert. Here's an example: My friend Tina was at a Mudvayne show in Florida, they were playing at a pretty small club, so the place was packed and there wasn't much room to get away from the mosh pits. Now Tina's a small girl, 5'1 and 90 pds, so some guy lifted her up and she got crowd surfed right to the middle of the pit. Luckily her mom's always worried that she's gonna get attacked or something and made her bring along some pepper spray just in case. So lil Tina was getting hit + beat around by skinheads, her hair was getting pulled hard, and somebody started pulling at her bag and trying to take off her shirt. Then she just totally lost it. She smacked that guy on the head with her bag, whipped out the tiny can of pepper spray and let all hell loose. Of course everybody started screaming and trying to cover their eyes. There was a 2 foot distance all around Tina from the people still moshing, some guys were on the floor. It was amazing. And yeah, Tina made her way out of the pit + to safety, thank God she didn't get anything broken. Everybody be careful if you're gonna go to concerts this summer. :)  ~* here comes a storm in the form of a girl *~ | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I was at a Day In the Garden show Up in Bethel, NY, the original site of Woodstock, to see some of the original bands from '69. It was great listening and seeing live the music in the atmosphere I have only seen on tape. Anyway the second night there was a downpour and Stevie Nicks was playing. The couple of days were really a spiritual experience, and even though I'm not a big fan of Stevie without Fleetwood, I was still digging it. Towards the end of the set, a punk kid came smashing into me and my girlfriend from overhead. He was trying crowdsurf to Stevie Nicks. Punk. So I dropped two beers which pissed me off. I look up and this jackoff was in my girlfriends face. I my mind I'm saying, oh boy here we go. I stepped up and pushed him away. At the same time one of his friends slams into me and I threw him away. I'm thinking wholly shit I'm doing great here. Then a third jumps on my back from behind and starts choking me out. As I slammed my fists into his ribs around my side, I saw my girlfriend holding the first guy by the neck and beating him in the head with her bottle. Distracted by this amazing site, I was taken to the ground. Now the guy was on top of me still trying to choke me out. As I continued to punch him in the head and ribs, the old diehard hippies were putting their peace sign fingers in my now blue face. All I could squeak out was "Well get him off me then". I finally got loose and got to my feet and was ready to f him up now that we were face to face and a security guard grabbed him and pulled him and his asshole friends with him. Afterwards, when my girlfriend and I caught our breath and the hippies congradulated us on keeping our cool, we reflected how crazy the situation was. I have been to hundreds of shows, been in hundreds of mosh pits, and never have I gotten into a fight. Here we were on the grounds of love and peace in the middle of a resurected love and peace festival and we just fought three guys. Amazing. Anyway Love and Peace. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Woodstock '94: I had been looking forward to the big climax of the 2nd which was Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, and Aerosmith - whom I had never seen. So toward he end of Metallica's set I smoke a joint that's going around that turns out to be laced with angel dust. As soon as Metallica is done I look around, see all the people, and freak out. I run back to my tent, pass out. I wake uop to the big bass drum kick that starts "Eat the Rich" and the the set in my tent falling in and out of sleep and screaming along lyrics when I can remember them. And I still haven't seen Aerosmith. There is a theory which states that if anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | ok i just got home from the Dave Matthews Band concert at giants stadium...one of the most amazing concert moments i will ever be a part of. first off, the concert itself was awesome - they did a lot of the new stuff, but that isnt' what i'm going to remember. During the last encore, just as they get to the chorus of Two Step, the sky opens up. we're talking rain like Noah and the fucking Ark never saw. everybody went ape shit - just having the greatest time getting soaked. Being part of 60,000 people yelling, screaming, singing, dancing, and cheering to two step in the driving rain is not something i'll soon forget.
